Ok, I'm 16 and about 4 months ago I thought I was pregnant. Then about every month since then I thought I was But I kept getting my period. Now, my mom doesn't know I'm sexually active so this could be a problem. But she also told me that women can get their period while they're pregnant!!! Is this possible or is this just a mom trying to get a daughter to confess to something they know about??? I'm really scared because me and my boyfriend (who would be the baby's dad) are fighting right now. I don't know what to do and I'm completely scared. Can I really be pregnant and still have my period??? The past four months it's been irregular too... Shorter and lighter but never the same!!! Help me PLEASE!!!!

Sorry I haven't put enough details... I've already taken 2 pregnancy tests, one 4 months ago and then one a month ago and both came up negative. Right after that I got my period but it was shorter and lighter than normal. Also my boobs hurt sometimes and sometimes it feels like they're leaking something but I'm not 100% sure on that one. Any thought would help if they're not degrating or useless!

Some of you have good points however, I'm not immature. I do practice safe sex, I can't go to my mom because i can't talk to her about anything. Me and my boyfriend aren't afraid of breaking up over every fight but I don't want to bring a child into that environment until we work out our issues. I'm 100% against abortion because of the fact that I chose to have sex so I can deal with the responsibility. I'm not asking on here to be judged or told I shouldn't even be asking this I'm asking to be told whether it's possible or not and how I could tell and some advice...

first of all you can't stress yourself out, that will make you irregular. Yes it is possible (it's happend to a few people in my family) have you taken a test? thats one way to know for sure. also your young still, periods can still irregular, (I went through the same thing your going through when I was 17!) dont worry about the bf until you know for sure. I myself am 19 and possibly pregnant, though my situation is better than yours. here's my email hun angel05603@yahoo.com . I have a feeling your going to get some negative comments, so I'm here if you need to talk. I feel for you, I know exactly what you are going through!

Yes. it is very! possible. With my first I thought it was the stomach flu ( yes, off and on, for 3 months!) until Granny made my Dad take me to the doctors. The second time, I was on the "shot" and was told I was having "side affects", (lighter periods, swellen tender breasts, nausea, ect) I took three tests and they were all negative. I got tired of it and made the Dr. give me another test. Sure enough I was positive. WITH TWINS. At the sonogram to measure how far I was, they measured at 4-5 months. and with the third time, I had my period for the first 2 months. So yes. Your mother is right. Go to a clinic (family planning, W.I.C.) to get tested. Your mother/ father don't have to go with you. Do take a trusted friend or something for support. It is scarry stuff but it should be done. They also give you advice about "breaking the news" and birth control. Good luck. Ignor the naysayers. They're too judgeMENTAL. Accidents happen to everyone. Just DON'T forget what you're feeling right now. It might help you to remember to be more careful next time.

I had my period while i was pregnant. I didnt even know i was pregnant till i was 4 months :/ . but it is certainly possible. At the same time, you r breasts can grow a cup size and/or feel tender during the time of your period too, doesn't amtter if your pregnant or not.
The best advice I can give is for you to go see a doctor and get a blood test, then you'd be 100% sure if your pregnant or not. Most of the time the home tests are pretty accurate, especially if youve taken more then one, but u never know.
best of luck to you, and I hope everything works out.

You are probably not pregnant. Pregnancy tests are very reliable.
Since you are stressing so hard on this I suggest you confirm this with a doctor. Go get a pregnancy test at the doc's office. This will give you answers once and for all, and perhaps while you are there you can get some birth-control advise so that you never need to worry yourself or your boyfriend like this again.
BTW: It is extremely rare to get a period while pregnant, and quite common to have sore breasts before your period each month.

It is very unlikely that you are pregnant. Sometimes your period varies from month-to-month, and you are probably obsessing over small differences because you are scared and stressed out. The best thing for you to do is find some way to purchase a pregnancy test. This should put your mind at ease. It is physically possible, if unlikely, to have your period while pregnant, so you need to find out soon.

you are probably psyching yourself out. my friend had a condom break. she was your age. after a week she was throwing up every morning. had all kinds of symptoms. and she wasn't pregnant. i'm glad that you are smart enough to practice safe sex and tht you are against abortion. that shows a high level of maturity at your age. if you were to get pregnant, you would fess up to the consequences. as for your mother, she may suspect something and she's right. about your periods being sporadic, at your age, if you're not on the pill, which regulates your period, it is relatively normal for cycles to fluctuate. Based on the information you told, I'd say chances are slim that you are pregnant, but wait a couple weeks and take another. good luck.

From the perspective of a mom a 15 year old that has been where you are. Yes, you could be pregnant. Please do not rely on the tests you buy from the stores. They are not 100% reliable. You need to go into a Planned Parenthood, or something like that, in your area. They are confidential, and will not tell your mom unless you want them to.
However, you need to consider talking to her. You are putting yourself in a high risk category. My daughter didn't want to tell me either. As much as I didn't want to know that my daughter was having sex, I was able to help her make informed decisions. She's on birth control now, and has condoms, that she received from Planned Parenthood. Not to mention, the free pregnancy test that was negative, thank God! But more importantly, she was able to come to me, and we were able to talk about everything, without yelling, no judgements. Ultimately, it's her life. But my job as her mom, is to guide her to make the best choices that will affect her future.
Talk to your mom, you might be surprised! We were all young once too, remember!?

ok sweety first off yes it is possible to have your period while pregnant and yes it is possible to get nevitive urine test results while you are in fact pregnant.
If I were you I would go to your local planed parenthood clinic or your local health department and ask them if they can do a blood test. tell them your symptoms and let them know that you are truely concerned. if you are in fact 5 months pregnant (if 4 months ago you thought you got pregnant you'd be 5 months along now from then) if you are you should start to feel movement and small kicks even. and you will surely shortly start to show so finding out now whould be a good idea cause if you are every one will know soon!
hope this helps

you are probably worring too much and that can cause your period to be a little irregular but yes you can have periods while pregnant.i know a girl who had hers for 6 months before hers stopped and she figured out she was pregnant. my grand mother had a least one period with 7 of her kids and the first month i got pregnant i had a period with my child. the doctor thought she was due in september but she really was due in August because i hadn't missed my first period that i should've missed. just use birth control and don't wait until you have to tell your mom that you are pregnant.

It is possible, but with you thinking that you may be 4 m onths along, the hormone levels would almost definately be triggering the urine tests to show positive. But, the best bet would be to go to an OB & have an exam. Even if the hormones aren't doing the right alterations, if you are pregnant, the doctor's exam can show physical changes in your uterus.
