Yes it is a possiablility! Though the bodys natural reaction to the pre-birth process is to give the mother diarreah to clear out the system just prior to going in to labor/water breaking! Dont worry about it, its TOTALLY natural! And its so worth it in the end for that beautiful baby you get!

An enema is given while being prepped. I think the only time this happens is when there is no time to prepare....for example if the baby comes too soon and there is just enough time to get to the hospital. Just figure....you are pushing something the size of a watermelon out of a hole the size of a lemon. Is that not more disturbing than poop?

It is very true, it happens to the best of us. You have nothing to worry about, no one will make fun of you. I am sure the doctors have seen worse. Plus, half of the time, you don't even realize you did it.

As far as my knowledge, I didn't think doctors gave enemas anymore, but I could be wrong. I was one of the ones who did poop while giving birth, and I also didn't eat anything before hand and didn't really drink much. So that isn't the cause (or atleast my cause). It is just that you are pushing with all your might and it happens. :)

Some women do, and its just because the muscle contractions used to push a baby through the birth canal parallel the muscles used to push waste out of the body. Its natural and not out of the ordinary. Everyone is so concerned with the birth of the child that feces is the last thing on anyone's mind.

Good luck.

lol, i didn't and my mom didn't, most of my friends did though. at the same time, i must add they the ones that did, ate while they were in labor and didn't get out of bed to go to the bathroom while they were in labor. i think it depends on the person. don't sweat it so much, when you go into labor, go to the bathroom every once in a while and it should be all good. once you hit about 5cm of dilation, you ll feel the need to go.
good luck

Yes, I found out from a nurse I know. They will be discreet and clean it up and most women will never know.

When you are pushing as hard as you have to, to give birth, yes it happens. No big deal, they are use to it.

Yes, you can!! And I agree - distrubing and embarrassing! But I hear you are soo wrapped up in the moment - you won't care...no matter how worried about it you are.

I'll see soon enough... Good luck to us!
