I have had three kids and am forty weeks preggo with my fourth. I had to be induced for labor with my first three at 42 weeks and it looks as though I'll have to be induced AGAIN. I am already dilated to three centimeters and 25% effaced and it has been like that for two weeks...do you think my body just is incapable of spontaneous natural labor? Please help!!!

its possible. eventually somthing will happen but for the babies best interest they usually induce. After 40 weeks the placenta starts to get old and the babies fluid gets low. thae docotrs usually dont go much past 42 weeks. Maybe this site will explain a little better for you. best of luck!

There is really nothing that can be said to improve the situation. U can try the old wives tales they talk about...sex (if your water isnt broken) and eating spicy food. But honestly most of the time they dont work - u never know tho it just might do it for u. U also might have a thick bag of waters and thats the reason why u have so much trouble. Just remember being induced at 42 weeks doesnt harm u or your baby and thats the main thing. If it needs to be done again then just appreciate that the baby would be healthy.

When you get pregnant, there is an expiration date. When that date comes, you will naturally go into labor because you're body cannot support the baby anymore. The placenta and everything else will start to deteriorate. BUT, some women can not wait that long because the baby will grow too large. This could risk breaking the baby's collar bone or result in you needing reconstructive surgery. But yes, you would have gone into labor sooner or later.

Well the saying is "no woman has been pregnant forever" but I understand. Most Dr.s don't like to let a woman get too far passed her due date for fear of the placenta starting to get "old" and not function as it should. More than likely you would eventually deliver but sometimes inducing is more beneficial.

Yes, It is possible.
I had to be induced with my last 3 children.
With my last one all it took was cervidil ( that and sitting in the jacuzzi)

your body is trying to but you cant help it if the contraction is not effective. there might be some defects in your nerves or you can blame it in your linage!
