at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier on Veterans Day? Having a politician do it demeans the whole ceremomy and insults those who wore the uniform.

I think the president should be there but I guess one draft dodger is as good as another. Too bad it couldn't be Colin Powell or someone else who proudly wore a uniform.

Ok, so when my daughter's deadbeat dad's unit (he's a reserve) DOES get activated in April, since he has a warrant out for his arrest through the county for failure to appear in court for not paying child support, will his commanding officer really hand him over to the police? I know they CAN, but do they typically co-operate or is it the "good old buddy" system? Don't they, the military, HAVE TO hand him over once he is active duty?

In my country years ago, it was allowed for draftees to pay their way out from serving in the military. What about you? Are you willing to do that?

Here's the deal. My daughter's deadbeat dad is in army reserves, so his unit is not activated, yet. But he's 11K behind on child support and has refused to show up for court hearings so now he has a warrant out for his arrest for failure to appear. But I'm getting the run around from the military. They say all they can do is "counsel" him since he's not "active" duty but they won't tell me when and where his next monthly drill is so I can have a police officer come and get him. That's the ONLY time I will know when and where he'll be as he's hiding out. I know his unit will be activated in April and I was told they can hand him over to the police then as he can't deploy with charges against him, but I'm afraid they'll find a way out of that. Do you know of a way I can get the military to be more of assistance with this?

Let's say I was lying in wait for a tank of either type to pass my ambush spot and had an RPG with me. If I were to discharge the grenade at my target, would I be able to disable the tank immediately? Or would a second grenade from my launcher be necessary to finish the job?

Okay, so I'm going in this coming year....2008 I will be in the U.S armed services..... and my mother says my grandpa would be proud if I was in the Navy... but I'd like to know is it completely boring being on a boat? In the middle of the ocean???... I've always been interested in all the military branches and I have no choice-favorite... I have though about AirForce, Marines, Navy and the Army!!! and I don't know too much about what to expect from each..... I get calls from the Army recruiters the most, I used to get calls from the Marines, until I stopped answering because they would call me everyday and I'm not ready to give them an answer.. Any help or idea on what to expect from each would be cool if anyone can help me out here.... if not I guess I can go talk top the recruiters..... but I'd rather see someones perspective who has actually been in the praticular branch and can tell me what to expect.....

Do you really think it has gotten to the point that war is good for business and business is good?

During the summer. I left my room for a couple of hours. My roommate was still sleeping in the room. I locked the door when I left the room. When I returned, my room door was opened, and my laptop was missing. When I confronted my roommate about the situation, he told me that he let a friend of his into the room, and left for work with his friend still in there. I personally blame both of them for this. When taken to the chain-of-command. The chain said something was going to be done, both for six months, the only thing that happened was the friend of my roommate was extended in Korea. Stolen personal items as well as work related equipment happens fair often in korea. For there are many soldiers whom waste most (if not all) of there money paying for prostitutes in Korea. So they sell the stolen goods to the pawn shops.

Recently there has been an explosion of advancements in military science, everything from self-hardening armor to nano-fiber muscles. If soldiers could be enhanced in such ways--superior strength, endurance, information exchange--how do you think these advancements would affect how war is done? how battles are carried out?

I have noticed that if i hint that this war is for profits instead of any noble cause, i unleash the hellfire of military scorn. It seems odd how sensitive they are on this subject. Do any people in the military not believe in bush and cos motives for the war?
