Here's the deal. My daughter's deadbeat dad is in army reserves, so his unit is not activated, yet. But he's 11K behind on child support and has refused to show up for court hearings so now he has a warrant out for his arrest for failure to appear. But I'm getting the run around from the military. They say all they can do is "counsel" him since he's not "active" duty but they won't tell me when and where his next monthly drill is so I can have a police officer come and get him. That's the ONLY time I will know when and where he'll be as he's hiding out. I know his unit will be activated in April and I was told they can hand him over to the police then as he can't deploy with charges against him, but I'm afraid they'll find a way out of that. Do you know of a way I can get the military to be more of assistance with this?

Have a law enforcement officer deliver the warrant to the MP station after your deadbeat son-in-law has been mobilized to active duty. The military will turn him over to the civil authorities.

Call DFAS. They are the ones who pay him. They may be able to take the money directly out of his drill pay. i tried to do this for my exgirlfriend, and her ex-husband's unit did nothing. you also may want to contact the OMBUDSMAN of the drill center or his unit. They are required to take classes for things like this. Keep on the police as well. They can contact his unit to get the address that he is currently residing at. This actually worked in my case, because he is now in jail. However, the child support will probably never be recovered.

some do. yet downrange, frequently no person is prevalent with who's from the reserve factor and who's from the lively factor. now and returned you are able to tell by ability of bearing or preparation; reservists are frequently greater constructive knowledgeable and greater self reliant by way of having a "actual activity" far flung from the direct supervision inherent in the militia. yet in daily operations I neither knew nor cared which factor any soldier, airman, or Marine got here from.

His command can't really do anything, because he is not active duty. They only see him once a month also. If he was active his check would be garnished. Your best bet is to keep bugging your child support enforcement office.

you need a court order. the military will NOT get involved with domestic matters at all. they required by law to NOT disclose information like that, so you ONLY chance is to get a court order requiring them to disclose. since you have a warrant, getting the rest should be easy.
