I don't know how many there is out there but i got an email saying that Starbucks wouldnt send any of there goods to US soldiers and that they didnt support our troops or the war. What do you think of these places like this? I mean you can support our troops and not the war but not supporting your own people who are fighting for you is just not right.

I know it is not for another hour here but to some of you guys it already is. I want to say thank you for doing what most people won't or are scared to do and that is risking your life for us. Thank you to everyone who is or has served our country. You guys rock. Almost all of my family has been in the service and my husband and a bunch of my friends are in Iraq right now. I pray everynite you guys come home safe. And god forbid anything happen to my husband over there I would be proud to tell our son his father was a hero and died fighting for his country. A lot of people put down service members and I think that until they have walked even a mile in their shoe's they need to shut their mouth. I just want to say thank you and god bless you all. HOOAH!!!!!

Unprovoked, the trespasser started crawling on my stuff and then disappeared behind the furniture. If he reappears shall I show him mercy or shall I take his invasion as a declaration of war and respond accordingly?

In the not-too-distant future autonomous microrobots will be plentiful and cheap. Robotic mosquitos will fly into ears and detonate. Swarms of robotic ants will attack us in our sleep. How will we be able to protect ourselves from terrorists wielding these killer micro-robots?

My hubs just graduated from basic training, and ever since he signed up a year ago, he wanted to do FC (fire control), surface warfare.

He's been trying to get it, but they put him in ET, and he's not too happy about it. They recently asked if anybody wanted to go to FC, and he wasn't picked, because he found out too late.

Will there be any chance somewhere down the line where he could switch over? He would like more than anything to do SWCC, and that requires being an FC.

Any help? He's stressed out about this, so if there are any veterans or active duty personell, PLEASE help! =) Thank you!

Most of the men in my family has served or is serving in the military. I love our military and I am very proud of them.

The other day I saw a homeless man sitting on the sidewalk with a cardboard sign saying "please help me, I'm a vietnam veteran".

I reached into my purse to give him some money. He saw this and shouted, "God bless you dear, thank you!" .. But then I smelled a very strong alcohol smell on his breath, and I decided right then and there, that giving this man money would not be a good idea.

I just walked away, with the veteran cussing and yelling at me.

In Bush's own words (or perhaps the words of his speach writers), the war against terrorism is really a war of "Hearts & Minds".

The way the Iraq war is being conducted (by the generals) is actually playing into the hands of the Islamic fundamentalists.

We are using White Phosphorous "Whisky Pete" because it makes the Army generals job easier, but it tarnishes our image in the eyes of the world.

We are repeating the same political & moral mistakes we made in Vietnam....

We are sophisticated enough to fight the insurgents by not having to inflict indiscriminate mass incineration on Iraqi civilians,...we are trusting our generals too much, and they are letting us down.

In this video, it shows testimony from former US Marines, and a British member of Parliment (22:15), that we are using methods outside of the Geneva Convention.

Question:

How can we make our generals do their job in ways that are less convenient for them, but still preserve our moral standing?

My husband just found out he's promoted to master sergeant now, but won't pin it on until june 08. He says it is tradition to celebrate now, before he even has the full pay, benefits and rank. I think it would be best to wait until June to throw a big party. What do you think?

If they don't, shouldn't something be done so that they do get some sort of monetery help?
After all they do assist the British military in wars like the falklands and afghanistan.

What country are we fighting? Not Iraq, we're in Iraq but not fighting them so who is who ARE we fighting? Insurgents? People who will never go away so far as their culture demands revenge? I think these people are good people for the most part, and I certainly don't endorse murder in ANY form.

I have some clips for my No.1 uniform belt for cadets, but one brass will only stay a matt brass colour (even when using Brasso - brass polish) and the other is shiny. The pair therefore look a bit dodgy.

Why are people saying to include silly string in care packages for the detection of trip wires?

Is this true or a bunch of crap?

US Post Office says no aerosal products period.

I think I will stick to either sending snacks & junk food or magazines/books/newspapers or personal care packages.
