No, you don't have to become one unless you feel that's best for you, but to become a FBI Agent You have to have a BA and After You get out of college you have to at least work For 3yrs, not a big deal where, just a very good job. They really don't want kids fresh out of college, they want you to at least be 24 to 25yrs of age. But you are on the Right track, you have your BA, so your well educated (They Want individuals who are very educated) and You have been in the Marines, so hell your good!! I don't know how old you are, but everything else sounds Good!! Good Luck

10 years ago I did some work with the LA office. The agents I worked with were a mix of an Army MP from the late 60's, a guy that had been a street cop for 10 years. The guy they reported to was an Attorney. The other Agent in Charge had a degree but I do not know what in.

They said recruiting was heavy in Law, Accounting and Computer Science. They do not do a lot of cop stuff, their words. All that means is that they need more of that due to their mission.

Criminology might work well with other Fed Agencies too. Check each web site. You will find the best answer there!

You can actually go to FBI.gov and check out the specifics for the town you want to work in.

I'ma criminology major and want to work for the FBI as well but, where i'm from it definatley requires my masters .. no exceptions .. so I have 2 more years left and then I can apply but, the criteria is utterly ridiculous. You can't have a speeding ticket or anything on your record .. EVER!

Depend, what field in FBI you try to get it, if you wanted to be an agent they might be more requirement, many agent are former cops, because cop background will help you handle the job better.

As long as you have a clean record, good reviews and decent grades you should be able to get into the FBI, CIA or NSA if you so choose. You can apply online, or attend one of their job fairs, check out their website for more details. You can also help yourself by getting a letter of recommendation from your CO, Congressman or State Senator.

no you can get into the FBI without becoming a cop first. . . they will basically give you that training initially anyway . . but they may consider you more if you already have that training.

thanks to whoever gave me the thumbs down, douche bags

That much training and education and you have to ask? Maybe the FBI is not for you!

no, you don't have to be a cop first...as long as you have the background studies, then you're fine.
