When do you predict any conflict? Why? Where? How? Who would win?

I am currently Active Army. I returned from 14 month in Korea, my husband and I decided to get a divorce (Colorada), while I at school, he took off with our 3-year old son - he called and told me after he left the state. I left school and got an emergency temp custody order for the return of my child. He took me back to court for temp custody (3 month later).

The Magistrate gave my son back to the father (in Nevada). He found that I put my military career above my child because I didn't get out when I was pregnant (I had 2 years in, and still would have had to serve 6 years in the reserves if I got out) and that I reenlisted (had I not "re-upped" I'd have 4 years in the reserves). Also because I had to go to Korea (involuntarily). The Magistrate stated "Mother serves her country, but not the child", "Mother has put her career above the best interests of the child".

Is this justice? Do I have a chance at permanant custody if we go to trail? Do I take this to the congressman?

Do officers in the US Military ever carry a LMG? Are they allowed to or is that only for Enlisted Squad Heavy Gunners?

What about in the SEALs, Rangers, or Army SF? Will officers ever carry a LMG?

As a former or present military person can you with a clear conscience read such a scandalous anti-American and anti -Military paper like the NY Times?
I would like to see a complete boycott of this crap sheet.
Agree or disagree.
Thank you for your service and Have a great Veteran's Day.

Is any other military personnel offended by the Anti Govt, Anti Military film "Lions for Lambs" debuting on the weekend of Veteran's Day?
The only good news is all of the anti war films so far have bombed (no pun intended) at the box offices. Thank God and let's hope this one does even worse.

to all the Veterans and Active Duty personnel all over the world. To those who are American like I am and to all the other nations who have veterans and Active Armies, thank you all for serving your countries. I am proud of my time as a US Air Force Officer, as I know you are proud of your service. May there be a time when war is no longer an option. May there be a time when having a military will be forgotten. May there be a time when there is PEACE.

Have a save Veteran's Day and may your life be filled with pride.

In 1939 Hitler was intent East..not West. Was it possible that if we had not confronted him in September 1939-April 1940 (Phoney War) he would have attacked with a free hand into Russia and won. Thus giving him a lasting victory, peace in Europe and living room he needed.
We should have defended ourselves but not waged war.
We did in fact successfully defend GB
Our Empire would have been strong and Japan would not have seen the chance to attack.
Therefore in hindsight accepted we could have avoided WW2 and legacy we now inhabit.
Its just worth discussing...as it is a different way...War was NOT inevitable...it was waged
The enemy of my enemy is not MY friend in my book.
The double standards as history has been writen by the West since 1945 is obvious to me
1/Nazi Germany-Evil genocidal bastards to be totally wiped out with salivation
2/Mother Russia kindly occupiers.Uncle Joe...ahhh nice old grandfather

Thankyou for some great answers that have put me right on some things

Things become SO much clearer now as to WHY Tony Bliar (sic) did what he did -

"Amid mounting media pressure and speculation throughout England, Yale officials have confirmed that Euan Blair -- the son of British Prime Minister Tony Blair -- will indeed be making the move this fall from 10 Downing Street to New Haven....Blair's admittance to Yale's graduate school has been a subject of interest in Great Britain since it was published that Blair, 22, was admitted to top-rated programs at both Harvard and Yale despite having received average grades at Bristol University and experiencing a much-publicized run-in with the law." ...

African-Americans, who joined the all-volunteer force in disproportional numbers for years, have cooled on military service recently. So have Hispanics.
Except among those who sign up, duty to country isn't an important value, according to Defense Department polls. The military is having a tough time enlisting new people.

Recruiters struggle to find an Army
By Frank Greve
Not so sure about enlisting.
THURMONT, Md. — The Army is struggling to find volunteers for an unpopular war, despite recruiting bonuses of up to $20,000 and pay increases for enlistees that have beaten inflation by 21 percent since 2000. Enlisting in the military is not important for many young people.

If someone has a TS/SCI Security Clearance and has had it for apx.19-20 yes, is planning to get married, and the person whom they are getting married to had gotten in some trouble in the past, it had been a few years, but it was legal. Not like felonies, but worse than speeding, would the person with that clearance lose it? If more details are needed, I can give them, to an extent.
