In the next 10 years.
They can destroy us economically because we allow excessive taxes and regulation to force companies to go there.

China is allready a threat. Just like Russia was until the late 80's but that doesn't mean we will end up in a war with China.

China, has a very large Army trained. At present, they lack the logistical capacity necessary to field and sustain that army anywhere but in China.
If we fight China again conventionally... as we did in Korea and Vietnam, it will be on a limited basis. I'm no longer in the loop, so I'm unaware of China's ability to conduct such combat support.
If we have to take on China in a nuclear exchange, the world will look like a donut. Nobody will win.
But China doesn't need to attack us. They're buying us.

can they be a threat, yes. But , they do have a problem , as I see it with respect for one another, so it would take something to organize them as a physical force. But, enough determination would figure it out, In the mean time , economically, they are well on their way of winning a defeat with out taking up arms.

Well, right now China is a threat to the whole world because they just recently surpassed the US for being the country that uses up the most natural resources and they're seriously polluting the earth. Watch Planet in Peril http://www.cnn.com/SPECIALS/2007/planet.in.peril/china.html

Predicting things like this is a colossal waste of time. They have over ONE BILLION soldiers and nuclear weapons. They're a communist dictatorship. They have more people than resources. Could they ever be a threat? Do the math. Figure it out.

China is always a threat, and will most likely win in hand to hand combat because of their sheer numbers. Which is why we would never go into hand to hand combat with them. The other option is not a good one either b/c they are also a nuclear power.

If China would have some intention of putting USA in a bankruptcy state, they could do that anytime. As for war USA has a lot of resposibility for the way it behaves. China is like the father and USA the kid, if the kid behaves bad the father will take steps to correct the kid's behaviour. USA should not fool itself and think that they're the strongest country in the world.

I don't think there would be an actual war. The pacific is too big and with todays technology, either side could blast ships/planes when they are in that wide open stretch. They would see them coming from a mile and could just destroy them.

Yes. It's pretty much inevitable. I'm not qualified to predict the why, where or how (specifically). But unless we, as a people, start opening our eyes and preparing, they could do some serious damage.
