Let's say I was lying in wait for a tank of either type to pass my ambush spot and had an RPG with me. If I were to discharge the grenade at my target, would I be able to disable the tank immediately? Or would a second grenade from my launcher be necessary to finish the job?

one should do it. actually i hear AK-47 fire work the best. just hit it 5 times at intervals of 45 seconds between shots. (the timing is important) also important is the location. you must take all 5 shots from the same exact spot. (something with the armor?) in 45 seconds or less you should hear a big boom. also, with your RPG, make sure that you wrap the grenade in tinfoil. its the only way to defeat an m-1 abrams energy shield.

If you were lying in wait, the Scouts and Infantry would find and kill you.

If you get lucky enough for the first shot, the second shot you heard would be be the rather large main-gun round approaching to kill you.

Tanks never move alone.

If you contact the FBI, NSA, or CIA they might explain it better.

Your first would not do any damage, and you would be dead before you got a chance to reload.

A disabled tank is NOT a dead tank and the rarely operate alone.

it depends where you hit it and the angle.
hitting it a coupple of times in the same spot will also work.
