My husband is in the reserves, he's been in five years with a rank of sergeant and mos- personnel. He wants to go active but he has a prior domestic assault(serious misdeameanor) charge from over a year ago. He has completed probation and is no longer on it. So we were wondering if this would prevent him from going active. Thanks so much for your help!

HOWEVER i don't have a HS diploma or a GED. Pathetic i know... :( Would i still be able to join the marines>?? I'm not using the military as an easy way out, its just school isn't my thing. I'm more of a....hands on, blue collared kinda guy. BUt i do plan on going to school once in the marines. However, I'm a soldier first. SO my country comes first. ANYWAYS can you people give me some insight on my situation. Also if there are any past or present recruiters...youre feedback would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

I have a strong desire and passion to serve this country (If you're going to talk me out of it, don't post an answer) but my dad doesn't approve. He says I'll lose all my morals and values, but I don't see it that way. His opinion means the world to me, and I don't want to hurt him by disobeying, but everytime a good war movie or something on the news comes up, I get this gut feeling I should be with those "brothers and sisters" in arms. If I went into the military I'd probably be an MP or a Medic. I want to talk to recruiters, and try and get them to talk to my dad, but I don't want to disappoint him. Any thoughts?

I read a comment on Philippine Star dated 14 August that asks the question, “are we sending soldiers in Mindanao to be killed and why don’t they have check points?” I think that comment was reckless, it was written to taunt the capabilities of the soldiers. And checkpoint in the marketplace of Jolo, Sulu, well you are really sending our troops to manslaughter huh? Obviously, you have not been there or you don’t know the real scenery there. I bet, if someone will give you a million to join the battle and defend the territory, you wouldn’t? This soldiers, who some leftist barrate are heroes, but did you see them barge on the street and shout justice during the time of beheading of the marines? No of course and yes, that was part of the marines’ job so they don’t care. Yet, what we are forgetting here is that, these people are human too, brave indeed-or maybe not. They just want to earn 12 thousand pesos a month (loan and salary deductions not included) to feed their children).

Thank you all that responded, here's why I asked. I took my kids on vacation, and one child got sick. When I called my ex-wife for the insurance information, she said she had Tricare insurance through her boyfriend who is a sgt. in the army. When I went to the pharmacy to get the childs prescription filled, I gave them the ID# my ex had given me over the phone. The pharmacist had to call Tricare to get approval to fill the prescription, and he asked me for the sponsors (my ex's boyfriend's) full name and birth date. I called the ex back and got the info about her boyfriend, and it was approved, and the prescription was filled. How can my kids possibly be in Tricare since my ex, at least to my knowledge has not married this man, and there is no way he could have adopted them. Something doesn't seem right here. Or did she marry him and kep it hush hush. Still doesn't explain the kid's eligibility though. Any ideas?

Army A has excellent deception plans, excellent strategies off the battlefields, good at luring enemies and setting dead traps, good at tricking enemies... but has inferior armour, weapons, sucks at battle formation and tactics and face to face combats...

Army B has superior precision, battle tactics, battle formations, armour and weapons but they never use any deceptions plans or dont have any long-term strategies or strategies off the battlefield.... If both armies are having a war...whos going to win?????

I'm going to end up going active duty for the Army and I was wanting to know if there was any US Army bases in Australia. I've been given the option of choosing my permanent duty station and was wanting to go to Australia. If there isn't any, what would be a good location to go for 3 years. I'm planning on getting married soon and am going to end up bringing my wife to live as well... Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I wanted to see what enlisting in the navy will do for me. I hear people everywhere saying that joining the military will end your life but whats the real major difference between navy .air force. and army. What im trying to say here is that i don't want to get involved into somehthing thats going to suck *** in the long run. i've seen video on youtube describing and showing how navy life sucks but everyone starts out somewhere. Lets say i do well on the AFQT what are some jobs i could choose. cause there isin't a website that tells you the options you have with your score. Now lets say i do well (85-99) what will that do for me. now lets say i score low. what happens from there. i wanted to join the navy cause i screwed my freshman, sophmore, and junior year of high school. right now im going to be a senior, and afterwards i don't want to stay at home and go to community college. WEll main question here is will i get shipped into the middle east or what? ir is navy different than others
