HOWEVER i don't have a HS diploma or a GED. Pathetic i know... :( Would i still be able to join the marines>?? I'm not using the military as an easy way out, its just school isn't my thing. I'm more of a....hands on, blue collared kinda guy. BUt i do plan on going to school once in the marines. However, I'm a soldier first. SO my country comes first. ANYWAYS can you people give me some insight on my situation. Also if there are any past or present recruiters...youre feedback would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Best advice? Get your GED. If the marines do not accept you, may I suggest the Army? Be fore warned. I seen many recruits come in with the same gong ho spirit as you and and end up wanting to quit during training.

However, by judging by how you written your question, it seems you are an intelligent person and will make the right choice. Good luck.

Unfortunately you are temporarily disqualified. You must have either a diploma or a ged. Now with a GED you can join but you will have to score over a 50 on the ASVAB. Now if you arent that far on credits you can always enroll yourself into adult school and that can get you in as long as you are enrolled and dont need too many credits. Now with that being cleared up there are also many other basic requrements and one that Ive seen lately from some guys joining is tattoos below the elbows or above the collar. No asthma, Felonies, drugs, or psychiatric problems. It is great of you to want to join this nations military, unfortunately as of right now you are temporarily disqualified. You should call 1-800-MARINES a recruiter will contact you within a week. Good Luck

not without a GED or HS diploma. there are minimum educational standards even for combat soldiers. besides, the military is chock full of high tech gear and you NEED and education to excel in life.

Get your GED, and THEN take one semester of 100 level college courses at your local community college. Then you willhave a better shot at getting into the Marines.

if that's what you want to do you should think about going another branch perhaps if marines is your choice cuz it's "cool looking" you need to think it through. As for education you'll have to learn to be machine it's not that easy and if your hands on and do as your told you fit perfectly. ged or highschool diploma is not required but it is encouraged. you can just get a waiver if the marines won't take you you can always go with their bro's the navy they work together in many jobs just not as strict. If your not in shape like really actually in shape then I suggest the airforce although marine bootcamp has laxed a whole lot now these marines are pretty weak nowadays.

You can't join the Marine Corps without a high school diploma. They won't take a GED.

Get your GED. You won't be able to get in without. Also, you need a semester of college completed for it to count. Once you do that then drop me a note and we'll see what we can do.
