I've had stuff stolen from me, like a CD player, CDs and other stuff. I've had friends that had their stuff stolen (shoes, CD players, even underwear!), So, why should I have trusted these people with my life?

I am talking about soldiers along of the lines of master chief from the game halo. Cybernetically and genetically modified. Where do you think we are and when if ever do you think we will get to a true supersoldier. Which branch should get them, the navy and their physically superior SEALs or the army and their Special Forces, or their super elite navy's DEVGRU or armys Delta Force

I've wanted to join the Marine Reserves for a long time. I know that more and more reserve units (from all branches) are being sent to Iraq and Afghanistan due to the fairly high turnover in troop deployments. However, I'm willing to protect our and others' freedoms.

I will have a Bachelor of Arts, Juris Doctor (law), and Master's of Business Administration when I join the reserves. After basic training, if I get accepted, I'd like to complete the Marine Officer Candidates School with the ambition of becoming a Judge Advocate General.

After ALL that is said and done, would I be more like to spend some time overseas? Or, would I more than likely be positioned at the Pentagon? (I guess it depends on my rank--O1, O2...O5.)

Thank you, and Semper Fidelis!

Is that supposed to make recruits mentally strong or something? While I was growing up, my father used to yell at me and that made me weaker instead.

I just dont see any reasons, as to why we went over to iraq, after congress and the senate except for a couple, signed a bill of war against terrorism, against the country of Afganistan, in which Bin Laden who the President exclaimed was the man behind 9-11-2001.
i can understand that after we deverted to Iraq, to help clean up what Dad Bush 41 wanted Sadom out, Sadom met hell in 2005, its after his capture i dont see why we are still In the country of iraq at war, other than to load the pockets of the Rich, greedy, and Powerful country's, also how much is our Hog money payouts, to the UK, And all the others who we had to buy to stay on with us to go fight iraq? lets leave in Surges as we came, and devert back to the war we really went at with Afganistan. Should be much more easier if we leave quickly, if al those taliban are over in Iraq, then whose watching their backs in Afganistan, Maybe its time for Rove to slide out, Bush and Chaney try to look smart, Devert out!

I'm turning 18 soon and with the War in Iraq, should i fear being sent over against my will by the draft? I know Nixon outlawed it but is there any chance that it could come back? I'm actually scared because well, knowing this White House, i wouldn't be surprised if they tried doing the draft again...

Last monday my Air Force Recruiter just told me I was booked for the job I wanted with a specific date. I gadly accepted it because It was a long wait till I got any of my jobs even available. Now, I visit him to turn in my high school diploma, and he says he apologizes because someone else took the job. Basically he said it was a miscommunication between another recruiter because they both signed up a recruit for the job. Now he tells me that I'm on top of the priority list because they basically screwed me over and gave the other kid the job. He tells me that I'm on top of the nation for jobs and that If a job pops up, they'll give it to me right away? Is this a load of crap? or what?

I was told that no military member or even Navy Chiefs can get in trouble for adultry. Is this true? If the wife leaves the member will she still be entitled to some of the retirement pay?
Or will the wife get anything at all even if they don't have children? Just repeating what I was told. Thanks

This has to be the dumbest rule I ever heard, since when does the Military dictate who you can and cannot marry? My friend who is a Army Captain fell in love with a SSG who is in the Army also. They are the same age, different Brigade and everything, now the Army is trying to punish her for wanting to marry a Enlisted Soldier.

This has to be the stupidest thing I ever hear of, love is love, does not matter what color, gender, religion. If people are in love why does the Govt have a say so in the matter?

Can anyone in the military please help me understand this rule?

In a new article for Defense News, Major General Charles Dunlap wonders aloud whether the next phase of the counterinsurgency in Iraq should be... bombing Iran's oil refineries, in retaliation for Tehran's support of Iraqi guerrillas.

How do you cope when your fiancee is in the navy, and he just went onto deployment?

Just curious. It hurts so much cuz he's all the way across the country, literally, and I can't go see him.

If you've served in the US military I'm sure you know that there's no shortage of dumb people.

Once my battalion XO said "Every now and then I get a soldier that makes me wonder 'What the hell was the recruiter thinking?'"

We once had one guy get wasted, and he was a newbie at alcohol. He blacked out, jumped out his second floor window of his barracks. He didn't know what happened until he woke up in the hospital.

In Korea, three guys in my battery were on a public subway, and for some odd reason, one pulled his manhood out of his pants while another one took pictures of it. (These guys were both straight and completey sober.)

We had a drill sergeant in AIT, who decided it was okay to sleep with female recruits. He would have gotten away with it until he got one pregnant.

Another guy got hammered and got caught by the MP's trying to take a dump by the post gate.

That's just a few, but you got any stories similiar to these?

I told my friend that I was thinking about joining the Navy for personal reasons and she was like, "At least wait until a Democrat is in office to do it."
I said, "Why? Just because someone's in the military doesn't mean they support the current President or the war."
To this she responded, "Well you're still supporting the idea."

Hm...
