If Alexander the great and his army continued his campagin into India will he win in battles with so many more elephants??

hipitheticly if he had an army willing to go to india i think that anything his possabull his personality would not stop and renew his army get new suplies weppons give them some rest he might have been able to fight off the elephants he might also gotten some of his own or allied with one warring tribe anything is possabul but the muntiny of his men doomed his quest

I'm pretty sure that when he defeated Porus he did defeat the strongest Indian kingdom. If I remember correctly, he left Porus in charge of his Indian conquests.

Alexander did a good job of developing tactics to counter the use of elephants and did not lose any men to them. He used the same tactics that Scipio Africanus used hundreds of years later to defeat Hannibal. I think the use of elephants is severely overated.

One of the great "what if" questions. Could have Alexander triumphed with his empire expanded so far? Doubtful, but he often beat the odds.

How much would the world be different if Alexander conquered India and Hellenised the Asian subcontinent? Interesting question.
