Basic training, though stressful and difficult at times, will be over before you know it. You'll always look back on your basic training time with pride that you made it through. The inspiration I can give you is to be the best you can be (no pun or cliche intended). Use it as a time to better yourself as a person and an American. Work hard to become a platoon guide where your leadership is crafted and you can stand out. Don't listen to your recruiter when he says never volunteer for anything. Just think - hundreds of thousands of people have gone through the exact same course you are going through successfully. There's nothing to be afraid of and you can do it as well. If you haven't started already, start working on push ups, sit ups, and running.

I am a quiet and calm person too. Just do what u are told and everything should be just fine. My drill sgts didnt even know my name at the end of basic which is a good thing. Just lay low and follow the rules and things should go great. Just remember that it is a mind game and as long as u dont let them get to u then u will do great.

My son just joined and is in Fort Jackson right now! Don't be afraid. If it wasn't for people like you and my son, we would be slaves to England! Our freedom depends on the courage and bravery of people like you. It will also be an excellent opportunity to see other parts of the country even the world. Insist that you get the M.O.S that you request, and you will be financially secure for the rest of your life with the education and experience that you will receive! Be careful, be strong, and God speed!

yes. keep your mouth shut unless spoken to, and do what you're told. do your absolute best at every task. it's no social club. be a machine. stay focused.
if you've been accepted there is no reason you can't do this. and really, it's only a few weeks. regular duty will be a breeze after training. good luck
ADD oh yeah. be aware. this will imprint you for life. go with it. this is the beginning of one of the most important times in your life.

properly organizing is top to something you prefer to maintain sparkling. initiate with closets...do away with the old stuff and %. away the stuff you do not use anymore yet prefer to maintain. As you're making a multitude sparkling it up. Do a minimum of one load of laundry an afternoon this way it does not pile up on you. stay to tell the story precise of putting laundry away too...as quickly because it somewhat is folded...positioned it away. I constantly fold outfits in the mattress room...this way it is going good into the drawers/closets. i'm getting my relatives in touch in cleansing up. despite the fact that i think of I made my 3 365 days old somewhat obsessive compulsive...the boy likes to establish. We do a straightening up ordinary each night after dinner. We positioned away toys, wash any dishes in the sink, positioned away the different products around the domicile...this way when I do my weekly cleansing, i don't would desire to waste my time putting issues away and that i'm able to easily circulate good to dusting and washing flooring. i admire utilising white vinegar too...it somewhat is risk-free for my 7 month old who crawls around everywhere. I fill a twig bottle with equivalent factors water and vinegar and incredibly lots use that on each thing. Works genuine properly for wood flooring...it cleans them precise, freshens the air and sanitizes the flooring. And it somewhat is excellent low-fee.

my son has made the military his career choice. he has done very well and has seen and done things that average people never do.
just don't take the name calling and reticule personal. this will be the hardest thing to do. basic training is very hard for it is meant to cull out those who do not have the committment that it takes.
like the other poster said. thank you for serviing your country. i wish you well and hope it is a very positive experience for you.

Remember that everything you do, it is based on the trust and faith put forth by taxpayers who fund the military. They are expecting a lot from you and you should demand more of yourself. Good Luck.
