"WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Only 40 percent of Marines and 55 percent of U.S. Army soldiers deployed in
Iraq say they would report a fellow serviceman for killing or injuring an innocent Iraqi, a
Pentagon report released on Friday shows."

...and we are the good guys... um, why?

Here are the major details:

My husband was injured in Iraq. He has a broken rib and some back problems. By the doctor's recommendations, he was sent home.

When he finally got home, I spoke to the person who is going to be in charge of him while he is home and said there is no way he is going back to Iraq. I assumed that once his injuries were healed, he would be going back. But for my husband, this is not the case.

So my husband asked him about this, and he told him he had failed the psych test and that was the main reason he won't be going back. I asked my husband what they tested, and he said it seemed like they were testing his memory. As in the doctor would say a series of numbers or words, and he would have to repeat them in the same order. Something along those lines anyway.

So now he has an appointment with a caseworker who said that he is going to see a neurologist. Why would he need to see a neurologist?

The US sold some dual use helicopters to Iraq. At best they could have been used as air ambulances. The then Warsaw Pact sold T82, T72 tanks & loads more bits that kill & go bang. The French sold Roland radar defences & Mirage planes. Look at the footage from the |Iran/Iraq war, the first Gulf war & the 2003 intervention. Then check Janes Big Guns or whatever. See Wiki for more details. Chinese Silkworm, SCUD, missiles;the list goes on. The US sold or gave arms to many tyrants, this just was not one of them.
The Russians & French have still not been paid. My Russian, French & Iraqi friends are aware of the origins of the arms. Where & how did the story change?

Source: I'm looking for vehicle magnets that say "I support the troops" OR "I support the war". When I discover one I approach the driver. (I make sure they have 18 to 30 year year old off spring) I say "Thank you for supporting the war. (Then at that point I get a big smile) I say "Please let me help you send your children into the Iraq war "SINCE" you support what Bush is doing. ( Note---at this point smile turns sour.....like the father is sucking lemons) Some turn mad as can be. ( But they support the war) Some tell me "I support the war as long as other people lose their family members". So why do people get mad at me? I'm just trying to help the war effort. What's wrong with many of these people who support the Iraq war?

Where is the outrage? Where are the hundreds of thousands of people protesting like they did in 1970 and 71. I just got back from a sporting event and not one, and I mean "Not one " person talked about the dead soldiers. So where is the outrage? ( Note: I did hear a lot of people talking about that singer who shaved her head)

WASHINGTON (AP) — A new Pentagon survey of troops in Iraq found that only 40% of Marines and 55% of Army soldiers would report a member of their unit for killing or wounding an innocent civilian. Many said this is the proud American way.
In the first internal military study of battlefield ethics in Iraq, officials said Friday they also found that only a third of Marines and roughly half of soldiers said they believed that non-combatants should be treated with dignity. This was learned from the republican party.

The study also found that long and repeated deployments were increasing troop mental health problems. And it showed that more than 40% of Marines and soldiers said torture should be allowed to save the lives of troops. Bush and war supporters are proud of this.

If I had it my way they would pull troops out NOW. But giving him 100B and additional 18 months seems more than a reasonable compromise. Giving anything else is tantamount to supporting the war. Support of the war will get you out of office quick!

Yes on the one hand he should go to war because he went through all the training, but then again the fact that he poses a security risk to his troops I think he should not be allowed. Not only that but he is going to have minders out there to protect him - who by the way, are going to be paid for by us, the tax paying people.
