Truman was the president, during the Korean War, but lets not forget the French were fighting a war in Vietnam at the same time, so technically he was president during A Vietnam war.

Harry Truman was President in 1950 , however the Vietnam war did not develop to it's full force until the mid 1960s. Now the Korean war started in June of 1950. That may be what you are thinking of.

Rocketpa... is correct. It was Truman that was President in 1950 when the Korean War started, and the French were fighting in Vietnam, with US assistance, both financial and military.
One of the other chaps that listed the presidents left out Eisenhower who was president between Truman and J.F. Kennedy.
