well apparently most of the army is made up of conservatives that are blind sheep of the Corporately owned government and media, however, for some odd reason we do not see the sons and daughters of head conservatives going to war, they "believe in the war" so why do they not go, i believe it is because the people in power do no want to fight or have any of their friends/relatives fight, so they let the poor-upper middle class do it for them, its a rich mans war and a poor mans fight

Remembering the Marine barracks in Beirut and the recent attack by 2 dump trucks on the 82nd that killed 9 US troopers, what is the plan? The Engineers can build anything given enough time and money but what do you do in one day? Concrete blocks making a serpentine and small arms do not stop trucks. Truck motors can run for a few minutes with holes in them. Trucks can still move with flat tires. Trucks loaded with HE will take out everything within 300 yards. Remember you only have 24 hrs. Stop one truck bomber and word will spread.

I just want feedbacks. This is for both male and females. I want to know which branch of the military (navy, air force, army, marines...) is the most challenging and why. And what kind of challenges you had to go through. And just to throw it in there, which one is the least challenging. I'm not asking "which is harder and which is easier" I just want to know in your opinions which one is tougher and had more challenge and which didn't.

Pentagon Faces Dilemma on Mental-Health Rest
by Tom Bowman

All Things Considered, May 4, 2007 · Military mental-health experts say that soldiers need a minimum of 12 months at home between combat tours. The Pentagon's current troop-rotation policy requires that time now — but it often includes training and postings that take troops away from their families. As the Iraq war continues, it may be difficult for the Pentagon to observe the guidance its experts suggest.

If a person was home-schooled, would they be able to join the Navy? (a separate question: What if the person was home-schooled, then went to high school for all four years, would they let you join?)

What exactly entails a US Marine life of an Enlisted Marine? From basic training to yearly schedule and how long a tour of duty lasts. Basically I want to know everything i'll do from the time I sign up to the time i'm finished.

Also, how long does it take to get promoted from Private to Private First Class and from Private First Class to Lance Corporal?

my husband is looking to try and enter the military (either coast guard or navy). we are married and have one child. but before he contacts a recruiter i need to know some truth. recruiters will say ANYTHING to get you signed up and then when or in, your stuck no matter if he bold face lied or not. so, how much do you think he would receive monthly and is the housing on base as GREAT as they make it seem (with all the huge two story houses in cute, quiet neighborhoods) or is it a crock?

The videos in this link show Russian tanks and armour spear heading into prestina in the kosovo war. This was the incident where the american general wesly clark ordered the British and French commanders to attack the Russians,in which they replied "we are not going to start a third world war for you". isn't it astonishing how a so called super power tells other countries to attack when they are supposed to be a super power and take the lead. I guess this only means u.s are all hype, hideing behind europe when the going gets tough.Thank god it was the bravery and courage of the Soviet Union who defeated nazi germany and freed europe and not the u.s, other wise everyone in europe would be speaking in german.what do people think?

Just what act caused the mess in Iraq? Could American ineptness , with one of the most dumbed down militaries on earth, be the culprit. After all, Saddam committed his crimes mainly during the 1980's. And IF he had so many killed, why didn't America show it in his trial to justify America's intervention. We all have already seen America's ineptness: no WMD's, no Osama, etc.
