If a person was home-schooled, would they be able to join the Navy? (a separate question: What if the person was home-schooled, then went to high school for all four years, would they let you join?)

I am being home schooled because of faulty school staff, not because of religion, I am trying to decide what I want to do for a job, and, how do I become an officer?

Yes they will take you. Doesn't matter if you get your GED or do correspondence school.

Home schooling offers a person an excellent opportunity for a great education if done right. Our local high school is a joke. Some schools are full of gangs and drugs. I support home schooling and they tend to score high on entrance exams. Don't let anyone put you down!

*Anyone who thinks home schooling is inferior knows nothing about the college level curriculums the correspondence schools use. I've known a lot of very intelligent and social people who've home schooled.

They will take you, but you will be in for a rude awakening.

The navy is about as rough as an average high school, and there's a fair amount of hazing.

If you were homeschooled for religious reasons, it will be an even worse shock.

I would suggest you go to a public college, and consider joining as an officer.

You wrote a couple of good sentences in a row, so you're smart enough to make it in college.

They will take anyone. Doesn't matter if you were home-schooled or not. You just got to pass the test and if you do you are good to go. I'm home-schooled too and I was talking to a friend who is in the National Guards and he said any branch will take you as long as you pass the test you are good. So good luck if you join!!!!

It will depend on the program you used while being Homeschooled. the recruiter will have to make sure that according to the navy, you received a HS education.

This applies to being HS for High school. being HS before that will not matter, only that your HS diploma is accredited.

If you can read and write English, know your right from your left and can walk and talk at the same time you are in.

Your question shows that you suspect home schooling is inferior which I have always suspected. It should only be used for families that are incapable of getting to a school because there are no schools within several hundred miles.
