if they vote to by a 2/3 rd over ride of the President. And they triedt hat and could not get it. so apparently not all of congress (only 54%) wants to pull out (funny, the media seems to think all of congress does?!). so until they get about 67% they are powerless. I don't think they are going to get it this year. Just remember, President Lincoln had a divided congress, even in the union, and narrowly kept funds going into the war. the same in WWII, there was not as much patriotism as books or films like to suggest, by 1943, Roosevelt was having a hard time selling the war, ( many thought, "Why the hell where we attacking Germany, when it was Japan that bombed Pearl Harbor???). Like wise our first war, the American revolution was very unpopular, only 35% where for the war, 50% where against, and the rest just didn't care. Wars are never popular, and all presidents have had to fight to stay the coarse, I would not want to have to make those calls.

Congress has to authorize any military action or deployment over 90 days, there was a small showdown in the first Gulf war over this. DO they have the power to repeal it? I don't know but I think they may try.

Yes, if they can override a veto, but they have authority to cut off the money!

Republicans repealed the Gulf Of Tonkin Resolution, another lie, that sent in the troops in Vietnam. About 40 years later, I can't remember the exact timing, they finally repealed it so the Republicans could get their name off of it!

It's not going to happen, they already stated that last night that they don't have the votes or anywhere near enough votes to do this. I can't imagine what the world thinks of us at this point with this kind of craziness!!
