The videos in this link show Russian tanks and armour spear heading into prestina in the kosovo war. This was the incident where the american general wesly clark ordered the British and French commanders to attack the Russians,in which they replied "we are not going to start a third world war for you". isn't it astonishing how a so called super power tells other countries to attack when they are supposed to be a super power and take the lead. I guess this only means u.s are all hype, hideing behind europe when the going gets tough.Thank god it was the bravery and courage of the Soviet Union who defeated nazi germany and freed europe and not the u.s, other wise everyone in europe would be speaking in german.what do people think?

(1) The actions of a single general do not make for the policy bent of an entire nation - never mind your failure to place source attribution for the General Clark quote.

(2) The United States accounts for nearly half of the world's defense spending. http://www.globalsecurity.org/military/world/spending.htm That alone is indicative of superpower status, if nothing else.

(3) The "bravery and the courage of the Soviet Union" was tempered by its alliance with Nazi Germany to invade and partition Poland; occupation of the Baltic states; abuse against its own citizens; occupation of Eastern Europe and partition of Germany. Let it be remembered that Red Army troops raped nearly 2 million German women in the drive to Berlin and the subsequent pillaging of what would become East Germany.

And if Stalin had his way, we'd all be speaking Russian. I suggest you take a look again at what you're saying and lay off the drugs.

Yes the Russians had a lot to do with winning WW2 but so did the British the Canadians and even the resistance fighters in the occupied countries along with the Americans won the war. Don't forget America was fighting a war on two different fronts and it was the American people who came to-gather to produce the war supplies that went to England and Russia so that they could continue to resist the German army.

You are confusing super power with super hero. There are two types of superpower classifications. One is economic and the other is through the military. The U.S. is economically bigger than everyone else and has massive military that can dictate actions anywhere in the world. The U.S. holds both titles and therefore it's classified as a super power.

There is no questioning the bravery of the Russian people or of their leader's about turn after supporting Hitler.
If you are British there was equal support for Hitler here too.
You are too young to have lived through it all but I suggest you read a little more before playing war games.
Heaven forbid you are ever called upon to fight.

Europe owes a lot to Russians for their sacrifice in WWII. There is no doubt about that.
