Didnt paul Harvey say that there was 45 billion profit to oil companys in the last 90 days? 500 million a day? sounds like they could lower the price of gas a bit...

The only way DEMANDING prices to come down will work on lowering the price of gas is simply to reduce the DEMAND on the gasoline. 12 cents a gallon? Where in hell did you get that information?

Well, since the price of gasoline is determined by the price of oil.
Have fun demanding that Mexico, Canada, Venezuela lower the price of oil.
And to the poster who taked about the oil companies making 500 million every day.
Well in the US, we use 192 million gallons of gasoline everyday.
You do the math, at no profit, they could lower the price by 2.5 cents.

The price is based on cost to produce and market conditions. There are places that pay higher amounts than $4 and places that pay 12 cents. If you want to pay 12 cents, you should move to Venezuela.

We should definitely demand that gas prices should come down. A petition or something should be organized to make the gas companies to take down the prices.

I woudl rather be living in the US and paying $4 per gallon than trying to live somewhere that only charges $0.12. I bet that after being there 24 hours you would too.

I do pay $4 -- and it's called supply and demand. Why wouldn't you ask top dollar for something that you know people need? What you should be pissed about is the Bush administration hampering research on alternative fuels so that his oil buddies can continue rollin' in the dough... We need alternative fuels!

and in europe it's $8-$10 a gallon. (but in euros).
prices can keep going up and will. the supply of crude oil isn't endless and hitting Americans in their wallet is the only way we will start to consider other means of transportation and alternative energy.

IF every one would start buying gas at the cheapest place in town the other stations would drop there prices and you again repeat the process till the price is where we can afford it. we are the ones who can change it....we could even get it under two dollars if EVERY ONE would do this.

no I don't
I also don't want to pay 12 grand for a car, 17 dollars for movie tickets, $5 dollars a beer the list goes on.
But I do. Why....Because that's what it costs.
