How is Rwanda and Uganda coping with the aftermath of the genocide that took place just over a decade ago? Close to one million people killed in a three month period and no major world power, even those self procaimed " humanitarian countries" intervened. Could this be the type of occurance that breeds terrorist sympathizers?

Burkley and UCLA. If Ahmadenijahd gives the word, I bet all these sleeper cell college students will surface and begin attacking.

Who agrees?

I'll be graduating in a few months and I've pretty much made up my mind that I want to join the United States Navy. I've spoken to a recruiter and I believe it's the route I'd like to take but there are some things I've been wondering about.

Since there aren't any expenses in the Navy, it would seem like it would be easy to save about 90 percent of your earnings while enlisted and come out with a great deal of money in the bank. After I've finished my enlistment I'll attend college, and I'll still be supported financially by my family, but I was hoping to use the money I save to buy a new car among other luxurys. Does this seem plausible? Are there expenses I don't know about? Is it really as easy as it seems to save while enlisted? I don't think I've heard of anyone coming straight out of enlistment having much money saved. Am I missing something?

Every time an Iraqi RPG rocket slams into a US Humvee,
many gallons of fuel go up in flames.

Why does the US continue to waste so much fuel In Iraq??

What are we (the USA) getting that is worth:
3,271 Americans dead
24,314 Americans wounded
24,188 Americans severely injured
1-2 trillion dollars (estimate by economist Joseph Stiglitz; this figure includes all the interest we are going to pay on the borrowed war)

What could possibly be worth that cost?

Do we really care that much about improving the political situation of a backward arab nation with only 27 million people in it? Are we really going to get our lives and money back in oil revenues?

Even at $70/barrel Iraq would have to give us every drop of their maximum oil production (3.5 million barrels per day) for free for 11-22 years just to pay back the cash we've put into this war. Does anyone really think that is going to happen? And what about the lives?

Maybe the war is making us safe from terrorism? Not according to "Trends in Global Terrorism: Implications for the United States," a report from our own intelligence agencies.

Seems to me this war is shaping up to be the biggest waste of resources and lives in American history, but I'd really like to think otherwise if only someone could provide me with a good answer.

People in Iraq openly claimed killing occupied soldiers is acceptable and daily protests demaining the occupiers to go home. In Afganistan , people openly wishes the return of the Talibans as they cannot accept the way american troops shoot their way out of a traffic jam , nobody feels safe anymore when american troops are around.

Practically nothing in her statement was actually THAT bad.

She said she thought she would be raped. No-one said or tried to do it, she just thought it.

She thought they were making her coffin by the banging noises. No-one said or tried to do it, she just thought it.

Exactly what torture did she put up with before singing like a canary and making well over £100,000 in the process? Not what was in her mind, what ACTUAL torture did she put up with?

Imagine for a moment if you will that she actually HAD operational secrets. Do you really think she would have been brave enough to keep them hidden? Of course not. She possibly represents all that is NOT brave about certain military personnel.

Im disgusted she is profiting out of a situation when all around her other personnel are DEAD or DYING on the streets of Baghdad. Meanwhile shes making a nice little earner on the side.

facility? politically wrong, you have some explaining to do, mudmarine, you are proof that drill instructors dont hit recruits any more, why has the Marine Corps stooped so low to allow a woman commanding General? i asked this question before and a few Marines defended this. and you all attacked me for saying drill instructors should practice hands off, but you are all satisfied with a wman commanding officer of MCRD san diego!! this is an outrage!! san diego is the only real boot camp with all of the hills! parris islanders hump on flat land, i could do that all day at 46 years of age! my question is again, for a hardcore branch of the service, how can the Marine Corps allow a woman to be the commanding General? whats next? women drill instructors for men? if you allow a woman commanding General i see women drill instructors within five years. why has the Marine Corps stooped so low?

It is awarded at the expiration of your enlistment. It means you served your time and served honorably. You did your job, did it well, and can be proud of it. The best part is, it requires no explanation.

Can anybody tell me what itis like to have any other kind of discharge,((Medicals don't count.))
