Dumb.

10,000 people marched in Najif.

I bet you have no clue as to how the name of the city is significant for revealing that they do not speak for the majority of the Iraqi people.

It is interesting to note that the less somebody knows about what is going on in Iraq - the more they oppose the war.

First of all, there are approx. 30 million people living in Iraq. So ten thousand people although significant does not mean the entire country hates Americans. Besides, do you know how many times people gathered to demonstrate thier displeasure while Saddam was around? Do the Kurds hate Americans? Thier region is widely quiet compared to other regions. And you seem to know what every Iraqi wants. That is amazing. Your question tells me a lot about what you actually know about the situation over there. Let me explain. The current secretarian violence has very little to do with our presence in Iraq, however it is a factor. The Sunni's who are an ethnic minority in Iraq have ruled for decades and suppressed the ethnic majority, the Shia. During the first gulf war, the Shia rebelled against Saddam Hussien when the allies invaded however after growing pressure from the UN and congress, we left them high and dry. We have no way of knowing how many people were killed after our forces left but the number 300,000 shia has been reported. So now that the Sunni's no longer have sole power under Saddam Hussien, the Shia are looking for a little payback. That is why they have been bombing markets, religious targets and not so many military targets as of late. It is an awful mess and we made mistakes just like every other military action in our history. Look, we have friends there, whether you want to believe it or not. Have you spoken to an Iraqi? A group of Iraqi's? I have and they are singing a different tune than what you are led to believe. Also, why are you not blaming Hillary Clinton, John Kerry, and the rest of congress. They were making speeches about Saddam Hussien and his WMD's way before Bush ever took office. They also voted to send troops to Iraq. I support your right to protest but why don't you blame them also?

Isn't it clear that asking "loaded" or "leading" questions on Y!A is a dumb thing to do?

As for your assertion, Najaf is Shiite territory, hardly representative of the entire Iraq (which is Shiite, Sunni, and Kurdish). And the whole march was organized by Moqtada al-Sadr any way. And the fact that they are able to march at all is a fine demonstration of democracy in action. Any such attempt under Saddam's regime, unless it was ORGANIZED by Saddam, would have been broken by tanks and bullets.

So stay off your high horse and leave your opinions in the politics section.

Let's consider that half of Iraqi people want America out of Iraq for sure, and the other half want America in, but in different conditions and with different strategy. If America wants to change the regime and make it democratic this will take time! It’s obvious that the actual regimes in the Middle East are so archaic, despotic, dictatorial and has to be changed. But change takes time. People should be convinced 1st. We can’t convince people by using the force. Love and peace to all.

yet somebody else who basically listens to a million/2 of the story and makes up something. McCain does not pick to maintain the Iraq conflict going for one hundred years. He under no circumstances stated that. He under no circumstances implied that. that's basically made up. He did say that there would desire to be troops in Iraq for one hundred years yet he has under no circumstances even recommended that. He basically pronounced the prospect as quickly as. i admire how people attempt to tie Bush and McCain to grease companies yet consistently forget that Al Gore's fortune all got here from oil. Neither Bush nor McCain pick the conflict to final one hundred years. they have the two called for the troops to be bumped off as quickly as achievable yet Bush did no longer pick to set a schedule devoid of the Iraqi enter. Now that the Iraqi's are waiting to take over, the Bush administration has been discussing the timetable with them. the U. S. public voted out the "Rubberstamp Republicans" in 2006 and instead have been given a team of Democrats that have endured to fund the conflict they have been supposedly against devoid of question. lots of effective it did.

The people of Iraq love us for our freedom! Can't you see only a REALLY SMALL ammount of people don't want American troops occupying their country. Every other Iraqi citizen is hanging pictures of Dick and George up there homes and naming streets after Donny Rumsfeld. Can't you see the people love us, we don't know who these people are or where they live but there there and they love us!

Yes, it's clear. To everyone but Bush. It's clear to Cheney, because, unlike Bush, he's smart enough to understand. Begging the old question, Which is more dangerous, ignorance or apathy? Bush doesn't know, and Cheney doesn't care.
