I'm interested to hear. My husband is a Marine and while browsing on here while he supports our freedom I've come across several comments about the military being for ignorant, uneducated people who can't get a better job. Do some people really think that or are they just seeking attention? I find that really upsetting if true.

Let me explain, my husband isn't ignorant at all. He is actually really smart. He was in the top 5% of his graduating high school class, but signed a contract with the USMC when he was a Junior in high school. The only way he describes it is very casual. He wanted to defend our country. He thought it was a duty - he never looked at it as an option. (thank God it is) I admire him for that. He WANTED to go to war. WANTED. I understand that the military isn't for everyone. (some ppl can't endure it) The LEAST they could do is respect those who do join.

I'm just curious and looking for answers. This is upsetting as first an AMERICAN and second a military wife

The libs can call me that all day, but I could really less give a damn, better than being an anti-christ, america hating pansy who drops his gun and runs everytime there is a threat.
Your chicken hawk war mongering right wingers are the guys in the military protecting your cowering liberal butts.
The VOLUNTARY military I might add...
so have some appreciation for chicken hawk war mongers.
They're preventing this fight from coming to your back yard.

First one fact of a Clinton presidency will be an immediate withdrawal of American military forces from Iraq. Another fact will be an occupation of Iraq by Iranian irregular (the Revolutionary Guard) military forces to back up the Shiite elements and an occupation by Syrian, Turkish, and Jordanian military forces to back up the Sunni elements. This will be followed by Iran moving men and equiptment into Lebanon, Gaza with the intent of attacking Israel. The ultimate goal will be to drive out the European ursurpers (Israeli Jews) and have Iranian dominance extending throughout the Middle East. As Mrs. Clinton begins her Presidency with the Middle East on the brink of nuclear war (Israel and Iran being the two nuclear powers) what will Mrs. Clinton do to stop it from happening? She will have no American military forces left in the Middle East to stop that terrible scenario. So what will she do? Perhaps she will do nothing because she's only a woman and she hates her husband.

I mean let's face it, at least they'd get 3 squres a day, honest wages instead of begging, health care, a place to sleep, and staying out of jail. I see nothing but progress for these unfortunate people by joining the military. What do you think?

I find it slightly annoying that women want to do the jobs of men but when the going gets rough the media singles them out as being more vunerable.
I saw that woman being interviewed by Trevor Macdoughnut, she seemed a bit of a nitwit to me.
A rich Nitwit, I find the whole episode abhorant.
If the government wanted to use her for propaganda they should have schooled her better
I feel an abuse notice coming my way

Our guys take beatings, sometimes for years. Vice Admiral Stockdale beat his own face to a bloody pulp to keep from being used in a propaganda film.

The Brit troops seemed almost eager to be of assistance.

Nope, I've never been there. I can say they damn well wouldn't get me in front of a camera unscathed, though. I'd be visibly injured when they filmed.

Congress has given him more money than he asked for. They asked him a legitimate question, "when do you plan to get out?"
Instead of being a leader and giving an answer, he's like the little kid who spills over the Monopoly game when he starts to lose.
That's not leadership. That is infantile behavior.

Isnt their job interesting enough if not why dont they come and join up and put their thoughts forward to the people they serve with. Or if they haven got the guts to join up why dont they go to there local barracks and express their beloved freedom of speech.

I'm faced with a difficult decision right now. But I am seeking information that perhaps some of you guys might be willing to share?

I plan on joining the Air Force sooner or later, but I don't know if I should complete Community College and get that Associate's degree first. My question to you all would be -- Would I be having an advantage if I waited a while longer or would it be wiser to just join in at full force? Thank you, and I appreciate any help in advance!

My best friend, a wonderful girl, but a flake, says she is having a clandestine affair with a Marine. She lives in the South, where we are from. She wants to use my family's vacation home down there for a "tryst". I think from what she is saying that he is going to "sneak away" from his service a weekend. She says he is married but in the process of divorce and doesn't want to give his wife any more ammunition or embarrass her. I don't believe that a Marine is having an affair but she is given to problematic/complicated relationships (she dated a Black guy in high school kept a secret from her parents; married a man who used someone else's identity; went to Saudi Arabia and got stuck there and guy was turned down to live in the US) and she has never lied to me before. So what I am asking is, is this possible, and should I let her use my family's vacation home? Should I alert the Marines if he comes there? I wouldn't even consider doing this but she has done so much for me.

Are there any websites that explain these jobs or is there anyone out there who has done any of these jobs in the past and can tell me a little about them? Thank you

Think about it, a gas weapon based on pot. You nail the enemy military and they completely lose their motivation and ability to concentrate. Then they get the munchies, which eats into their food supplies.

To make it even better, because it isn't designed to kill or maim, there might be some Geneva Convention loopholes that would make it legal under international law.

Why hasn't the military researched and developed such a weapon?

I am a 19 year old kid in good shape who is looking to join either the SEALS or the SWCC. I feel like I could meet the physical requirements with a little more training but all of the pictures I see of Navy Special Ops show guys who look to be about 25 and older. Am I too young?
