There are exceptions to every rule. Yes, the army does have different PT standards, but remember women are also not allowed to fight on the front lines either.
My mother is a Lt. Colonel and one doesn't work their way up being a nit wit.
That woman might have been dumb, but am I to assume that all male posters are dumb based on your post?

As far as I always played and was taught, there was no gender in the Navy, we were all Sailors, but I know and agree with what you are saying. I really hated the silly girls who I wouldn't even classify as Sailors that had sex with every guy in their division and would get out of stuff just by playing cute like a high school cheerleader. Those girls never made it far. Usually they got knocked up quickly and went away. The rest of us real Sailors could do out job, the guys job and any job in between without any gender issues. We want it this way, why would you want to be treated differently in the first place? Most Sailors, male and female, that I know feel the same way. From what I have learned from other branches it seems the Navy has done the best job of joining the genders with the least amount of issues. Thankfully we are all just hard working Sailors.

Just because the media singles them out, doesn't mean that female soldiers want to be singled out, and not all female soldiers are nitwits (which is not capitalized, by the way, it is an adjective, not a proper noun). Sometimes the military just lets things happen, you know, and uses those incidents to divert attention from other things. Sometimes, you just can't stop "stupid" from happening, either! lol You have seen the media cover tornadoes and earthquakes and such. When they interview the locals, it seems as if they (the media) choose the corniest, most stupid, toothless people they can come across. Whoever she was, she could hold her own and was capable of taking orders, or she wouldn't have been able to advance, female soldier or not.

If women in the forces cannot do the same work as the ordinary male soldier, then they should quit. Other countries have women in the military who are not given any preferential treatment from the men, and have to fight in the front line when needed and a lot of these women have been decorated for their heroism under heavy fire.

Rights are defined by the Constitution.... and women are no different than men under THAT document. Pentagon / Congress state that women can't serve in certain combat billets.
There is NO RIGHT that men are different from women... and gawd, the ERA folks have been fighting to eliminate any differentiation of the sexes.
I agree with "Navy Sailor"... I served from 85-99 and saw female sailors use their femininity.. and they aren't respected. The sailors I respect were the enlisted / officers who just do their JOB.
I don't know to whom you refer... but judging female military members on the basis of ONE interview isn't correct.
In memory of AW3 W. Potter... and many other living females I worked with and flew with who did their JOBS: male or female.

Once you put on that green uniform - YOU ARE ALL THE SAME irrespective of gender.
SIMPLE AS !
Mind you, we're talking Navy here.. hmmm I woudl HOPE the same applies that once they put on thier navy (no pun intended) uniform, they become "as one" regardless of gender.
However, boys are taught from an early days to treat women gently, not to fight with them blah blah blah, and as they grow up, they instinctively react differently towards women in any given situation - particularly in the same situation. FACT !
These women have EARNED the right to be treated with respect. They have worked hard, and completed the same basic training, and when they put that uniform on, they are no different to you or I...
Unfortunately theory is a wondeful ideal !!

No. we are truly diverse in step with evolutionary survival imperatives. it really is in the majority statistic. truly the spectra of adult males and women intersect to an major volume also. adult males are stressed out biologically to be aggressive, rational and logical. It became for our survival moreso some time previous and perchance even immediately in different strategies. women are good in the area of duty and are nurturers. The bonds we make are particularly diverse too on common. women are better in all probability better possessive of their adult males and distrustful of alternative women, even acquaintances at circumstances. adult males have a unusual bonding with different adult males, a tribal kinsmanship. inspite of the innate competitiveness, male bonding is legendarily good. Male competitiveness, a favor in better primitive circumstances, is now replaced by using events and, regrettably, from time to time conflict. that is humorous how heavily some adult males take events. in spite of the indisputable fact that that is all organic. all of us compete, some in a lot less glaring arenas. in the place of work, both the male and lady organic roles can and do paintings. To assume maximum women to be very sturdy at cutthroat negotiating and aggressive upsmanship should be struggling with nature. some can and some are particularly excellent at it, yet statistically that won't be able to be the case for most. together, adult males have a tendency to be better reactive and not as sturdy in the planning and duty departments. lower back, some can do better functional than others, yet in many circumstances women attempt this better functional by making use of their nature. we are certainly diverse. we do not opt for or own genders. only keep on with the skills that paintings maximum proper for ourselves and comprehend the skills we can use that are better functional employed by using others and all of us paintings large together.

Women want equality with men, okay so far. It gets to be a problem on the front line if a woman is shot. Your average GI.Joe and Tommy is going to stop and try to help the shot woman. This is not how to play at war. If someone is shot, you ignore them and ran at the enemy firing your weapon.
If a woman is taken prisoner, everyone knows exactly what is going to happen to her. It also happens to male prisoners as well.

Oh dont even get me started on women in the army...... Half of them shouldnt be wearing the uniform in my opinion. Half of them are just there to please the men and when orders for deployment come up they go out and get pregnant so they dont have to go anywhere! Seen it so many times. Dont get me wrong there are many many hard working, brave female soldiers it is just most of them give them a bad rep.

I think its time that women accepted that there are some things we simply cannot do as well as men one of which is coping on the front line, parking in a supermarket carpark understanding the rules of football/rugby/cricket etc.
Of course, to even up the balance, there are some things that men can't do as well as women...and if you give me a bloody moment, I will think of a few.
