At the beginning of the Bush administration, we went to war in Afghanistan, then Iraq and now we find ourselves entangled with threats from Iran and North Korea. A recent news article mentioned that the government is again calling on the National Guard for deployment, because of insufficiet troop levels. We're spending billions of dollars a week. Who knows if there will be threats from other countries in the near future. How much longer can we keep this up? By sending all of our resources overseas, we may not be able to protect our homeland in a time of crisis. How many of us are willing for higher taxes or re-instituting the draft? How necessary is our involvement in all of these countries? What is your opinion of this quandry?

It is one thing to Grandstand over taxes, but to stall the mechanism supporting our Brave men and women in uniform, being true Patriots, men and women of courage, character, and True Grit, to be stabbed in the back by Democrats is unconscionable.

WHAT THE ADMENDMENT SAYS IS THAT A PRESIDENT SHALL SERVE NO MORE THAN TWO TERMS. IT ONLY SAYS TWO CONSECTIVE TERMS, NOT TWO TERMS TOTAL, SO HE CAN RUN AGAIN NEXT TIME AROUND. MY TEACHER TOLD ME THIS, AND SAID THAT CLINTON CAN RUN AGAIN, EVEN THOUGH HE SERVED AS PRESIDENT FOR 2 TERMS, HE SAT OUT FOR 2, SO HE IS ALLOWED TO RUN AGAIN. THIS IS WHAT I WAS TOLD, THAT A PRESIDENT CAN RUN AS MANY TIMES AS HE WANTS, JUST NO MORE THAN 2 IN A ROW. CHECK YOUR ADMENDMENTS, BECAUSE THIS IS WHAT I WAS TAUGHT.

I am not a kill em all gung ho kind of guy but as I recall the last 2 wars where we won big time and changed the face and course of mankind were World War I and II. Then Korea, Vitnam, and now Iraq with no win situations what gives?

Since we are there could we not fight a war like we had in the past to win.

I know civilian casualties and war atrocities are things to avoid but this is a war right?

I personally would like to see all service persons come home or even better to never have gone but since we are there now why not fight like we mean it and win?

They have never served, know little to nothing about the military, yet they post all of these ridiculous questions, and then call the people who answer them liars.

Why do they pollute the military pages? We need to get a hippies page added so they can trade their propaganda and waste their own time rather than the people who really want legit answers.

zztopn. You say that I am a faux vet? Give me your email so I can send you pictures of my smiling face as I crouch over dead bodies. Or, we can meet up and I can show you my scars after I give you some of your own. Let me know.

The USS Iowa and the USS Wisconsin served thier efforts very well into the persian gulf war. They could be remodified for today's Navy. Though we will have to Upgrade thier: radar, Anti-Aircraft, Anti Ship, and etc. but if we do make the upgrade there will have to be a goal that it must be able to perform. it must be able to shoot within a 63 nautical mile radius. the current it ca shoot is within a 24 mile nautical mile radius. we would have to make a great upgrader to thier mark 7 main guns for the weapon to shoot that far. and if it were capable of this, the whole concept of Battleship Vs. Airforce will be greatly looked at with that we have tested her sea worthess back when Tyhpon Cobra hit them, when Typhon cobra hit them, they lost 3 destroyers, planes in the aircrafts hangers fell out into the ocean, and the USS Wisconsin only reported two injuries on her deck. and rest of the fleet there suffered 790 casualties total, and 80 injured. So I think she's seaworthy/strong enough.

I begin to say this is nothing to do with the morality
of our soldiers in Iraq or afghanistan
so do not take this question in the wrong way.

I want to know if you really believe to go to war
with the idea you go to fight or even die
in the name of liberty and freedom?

do you really believe your government ask you
to sacrifice your life in order to free the Iraqi people?

PS note
all radical conservative safe your political comments
cause I'm not democrat or liberal
and of course not a republican.

I always wonder, why so many people get offended, when one questions the military. After all, there are many lies, unneccesary cover ups, corruption and greed abound in the Pentagon. Over 1 Trillion tax payer dollars have disappeared under Bush/Rumsfeld. Should we all shut up and let them do, what they want, without any control? Isn't that the end of democracy?

My husband got out of the army last month after the stop loss was lifted. He missed a call yesterday from a staff sergeant w/ the National Guard and the message just stated that he had important information for him and asked him to return the call. My husband is not the pessimistic/ negative type but he is convinced they are calling him to call him back to active duty. I tried to tell him to return the call and it's probably nothing more than someone trying to recruit him (again) to the National Guard?
What do you think?

I know some servicemembers don't do this but I am just curious to know if anyone has and if they know where the habit of naming your weapon comes from. The first person to answer the second part of the question gets the ten points. (BTW I know the answer. ) Good luck!
Oh and just so you know my rifles have been named:
M-16s in the Marine Corps- All of them were Jules- 1st, 2nd etc
In the Army my M-4 while in the 82nd was Meridius and the 50 cal on our truck was Decimus.
