The chances of being recalled are not exactly high, however certain jobs are at a higher risk than others. Don't let the individual talking about a draft scare you, they obviously do not know what they are talking about. Once a year for the past few years a politician from New York (democrat) has put in a bill to institute the draft and then voted against it. This is just to get people talking about the possibility of the draft. They have even admitted to this.
If you are looking to get out of being recalled, take a look at your circumstances and ask the basic question, "what makes me special?'. If you are going to try to get out of it, you will have to be able to give an intellegent answer. Remember, when you signed up, you authorized them to call you up for up to four years after getting out. You have to justify to them why you should not have to live up to your commitment. If it is because you oppose the war, that is one avenue to go; but keep in mind they probably hear that all the time so you will want something more reasonable. Also, as to the suggestion you try drugs, keep in mind that will go on your record which employers can request to verify information for future employment. Also do not be so sure that your discharge status cannot be changed without speaking to someone. If you get flagged for drugs, they have to change your reenlistment eligibility code on your DD214, this means they may also change your type of discharge, because now you are being discharged from Inactive Reserve status as well. You may want to contact the VA to speak to someone.

Why would you want to? You joined to serve and you knew that you could be recalled. Just like the ones who join the Reserves or Guard and then think the Sky has fallen when they are activated. It is not a place to take the bennies but holler kings X when the real mission comes up! The only answer to your question is to be legally dead!!

---don't listen to that other guy, you did your time....so, here's how to do it. The only way to keep fom being recalled is to be unacceptable and have supporting documents. The easiest way is if you have kids. If you had supporting documentation ( even if it's temporary) that you are the sole supporting parent, you can't be recalled. If you are the sole surviving son, you can't be recalled. Or, if you recently somehow developed severe knee pain, the medical board won't accept you either.

If you were theoretically to smoke some illegal substances, when they tested you, they wouldn't take you. If you already got your honorable discharge, then it won't be taken away from you. So YOU win.

Religion goes against killing another, thus freedom of religion , faith is a good start, second the constitution, say if you are going to be killing people for unjustified cause you could refuse, but the first is better. Ignorance is so great in our marines and armed forces that they are forced to kill.
