What is the point of battle tanks? They seem over powered to me. I think an IFV would do just as fine, considering most modern ones are equiped with a TOW missile.

...and they know that these civilian contractors are the ones making the big bucks while the Soldiers do all the dirty work and have to treat the civilian contractors with respect?

Is this how Bush and his regime support our troops?

I'm in the military and have done some time overseas. I don't understand those people who say they support me, but then say they feel sorry for me that i have to follow the orders of our current president; and they "support the troops, but not the war." How is this possible? How can you support me without supporting my cause.

Been looking at a change in career paths for a while now, I keep seeing all the recruiting adverts for the australian army and had a look on thier website, the oppurtunities they provide sound great, e.g. Paid to train, good wage after training.. get to see the world etc.. But I was wondering if anyone here is actually lived the army life and could tell me a bit about it, as I relaise the website is just trying to sell the lifestyle, but I'd like to hear the real deal.. I am a female living in western australia, thinking about entering at general entry level as a admin clerk, I am quiet fit, but am curious about the dangers, benefits, and how the posting works?? will I be away from home for along time? will I be required to move permanently?? anyone willing to share thier experiences, would be greatly appreciated.. Thanks :)

It made me cry... It makes me sad that anna nicole seemed more important to our own press than our soldiers do, and they are the TRUE heroes and TRUE friends of American people !!

Lets have a little history lesson

Aug. 2, 1990, Iraq invaded Kuwait and the US led a UN military intervention to reverse the invasion

April 3, 1991, UN Security Resolution 687 was passed requiring Iraq to disclose and permit the dismantlement of its weapons of mass destruction programs and submit to long term monitoring of dismantlement

April 7, 1991, and Aug 27, 1992, US, Britain, and France began enforcing no-fly zones in northern and southern Iraq to keep thousands of Iraqi Kurds and Shiites from being killed by their own military

1991-1998, Iraq denied U.N. weapons inspectors open access to suspected sites, continued to build its capability of using weapons of mass destruction, began a genocide of the Kurdish minority, and attempted to assassin George Bush Sr. and further denied UN the right to do its work

Oct 31, 1998, Clinton Changed US policy objective in iraq from containment to regime change

It seems cut and dry to me. Iran has made comments about Israel's right to exist and that they should be wiped off the face of the map. Could someone explain to me how Iran could thinik that Israel is not going to do the same to them as they did to Iraq. It seems to me like a fact. Iran has to know that they will be forced to stop sooner or later. Is it that they just don't care? Or could they really believe they are able to hold their own in a fight with Israel? Am I missing something?

Robert Byrd

Long-time opponent of the war in Iraq, Senator Robert Byrd, recently remarked about Bush’s troop surge plan:

“At the outset of this war, the Bush administration believed, apparently, that democracy could be exported through the barrel of a gun. That belief was wrong then; it is wrong today. Twenty thousand more troops won’t make it right.”
