Please let us know how you are. I want you to know that we are behind you, we pray for you, we love you, we thank you from the bottom of our hearts and souls. God bless you and yours. Again, thank you, soldiers, we love you. My husband is a Viet Nam Veteran, God bless them, as well.

Thank you for your replies; Souhjaman, please post a question and let us know how to go about sending needed supplies. I send magazines through magazine companies, but don't know what else to do. And, for others who say they don't want to be a part of this war.....no one ever wants to be a part of any war, they all want to be home with their families, as well.

Yes, I am still serving after 26 years....and wouldn't have it any other way!
Some say they would like to do something for the troops. Its sad, but because of a few sickos, mail addressed to "Any Solider" isn't sent to the fronts any more. But you can do something if there is a base near your home.......I, each Christmas Eve, and New Years eve make a box filled with sandwiches, chips, fruit, nuts, hard candy, etc with a card saying thank you for your service with my name and address inside.
Granted it doesn't help the ones overseas, but it does help the local guys who, most likely have already had a tour overseas, or will be going in the near future.
Search the web, there are groups that are approved by the Pentagon that can send over large shipments of "goodies" for our troops.

Maybe you can get in touch with an ombudsman - they usually handle that stuff for the different commands and any kind of help is always welcome. Thank you also, it's nice to know there is real support out there, because when times get rough, it's what keeps people going.

I am not.
But you are right, all Americans stand behind our armed forces.
In some instances we don't stand behind the mission you have been sent to do, but that does not in any way mean we don't support you and want to give you everything you need to survive.

No. They wouldn't let me in due to very mild asthma & allergies. A Mexican national is allowed though which always made me wonder if I was discriminated against.

Words are so easy....
Spend the money and send a box with whatever you can find that you think they'll want/need: those nifty sports bottles that come with water filters and extra filters, NICE toilet paper, current magazines, books, bibles, what have you. Extra socks are always welcome. Send the stuff you take for granted, like soap and baby wipes.
It's so easy to say, "I support you." Showing it, though, seems to be a little harder. It takes no effort to call your local recruiting office and have them help you find a way to send this stuff. Stop talking. Start doing.

I am proud to be in the world's finest Navy. Many of my friends are military as well. Thanks for the support, I know many guys aren't seeing the good messages from home, especially in the combat zones.

US Army Retired 1970-1990. I was in when it wasn't fashionable to support the troops. Thanks for the boost.
