No but you'll be disqualified from LIFE.

No... it wouldn't stop you from doing anything you would want to do in the military unless you have hearing loss of some kind. Tubes in the ears rate about the same as getting your appendix or tonsils removed or having had chicken pox. The MEPS consider it a basic past medical condition that doesn't really affect you now. You will have to get a pre-determination waiver, which could make your processing a little longer, but thats about it.

When you say "had", I assume they are gone.

Tubes are expelled naturally by the ear as the eardrum heals. There may be a small amount of scar tissue but usually not. Your hearing should be fine if it wasn't already damaged by infections prior to getting tubes, and if you have only had tubes inserted once or twice.

If you still have them, I don't think they are a problem unless you need to go underwater. Ask MEPS.

Assuming you may bypass your listening to try, and assuming you haven't any longer had a recurrent sequence of ear infections, i'd assume they're going to qualify you for accountability. it is going to disqualify you for any aviation jobs, via fact it might desire to reason issues at altitude, yet once you're no longer searching for a flying job you will desire to be ok. I commend you on your decision to serve. right here is to ya! solid good fortune and that i'm hoping all of it works out.

Your best bet would to be to talk to the doctors at MEPS. They have waivers for pretty much everything though. You might not be able to pick certain jobs.

my husband and i both had tubes in our ears and we were not disqualified. as long as your hearing isn't affected, it shouldn't be a problem.

You may be disqualified from certain jobs, but you can get a waiver for most everything as long as it won't severely and adversely impact job performance.

I don't know why you'd be disqualified unless your hearing's been affected. Ask your recruiter.

Yes, but only if you hear voices telling you that Iran has nukes and is going to attack the USA. That will probably rule you out as a candidate for everything except the Bush administration.

(US Military Entrance Processing Station). If they are gone I don't see why this would be an issue.
