Been looking at a change in career paths for a while now, I keep seeing all the recruiting adverts for the australian army and had a look on thier website, the oppurtunities they provide sound great, e.g. Paid to train, good wage after training.. get to see the world etc.. But I was wondering if anyone here is actually lived the army life and could tell me a bit about it, as I relaise the website is just trying to sell the lifestyle, but I'd like to hear the real deal.. I am a female living in western australia, thinking about entering at general entry level as a admin clerk, I am quiet fit, but am curious about the dangers, benefits, and how the posting works?? will I be away from home for along time? will I be required to move permanently?? anyone willing to share thier experiences, would be greatly appreciated.. Thanks :)

You would be best to Join the Navy. Same sort of thing with free education etc. You would see more of the world too without getting shot at. I was in the NZ navy for Six years and had a lot to do with the Aussie lads and lasses. Good funhad by all. Especially excercise Kakadoo 1995.
