I am a contractor and yes I think it is worth it.HOWEVER! I and everyone I work with has prior military experience. So join the military.
To all who post your negative opinions about contractors.Well.I guess I will just laugh all the way to the bank.

Now you got a glimpse of the way America's future wars will be fought. The future military will be structured like a big corporation. You will have generals working like CEOs in micro-managing the wars. The soldiers will be under the command of managers. Every soldier will be fighting not for the country but for the corporation. The soldier's salary will not come from the government but from the profits made by the corporation. This will be part of the New World Order, where there will be no more nations but a single world global government. As Russia's Vladimir Putin said in his recent speech in criticizing the U.S. at the Munich conference: "The world is now unipolar. One single center of power. One single center of force. One single center of decision making. This is the world of one master, one sovereign.”

I don't know if Iraq was "worth it" or not, neither does anyone else right now. Historians will write, books will be published, college professors will teach future teachers, and school children will be taught what college professors espouse. Millions of students have been taught Lincoln was the "savior of the Union" and that the South was the enemy. There are many southerners who have still not accepted this premise. Don't say the conflict in Iraq is different. Iraq is fighting for what they believe. I don't believe it, and you may not believe; but, they do. The horror of war? Read Dalton Trumbo's "Johnny Got His Gun".

You would actually make more money fighting in Iraq. My father was gonna be a contractor there but decided not to go when he found out that he'll live in a tent, in terrible heat, with bugs and snakes, eating army raions and getting only about 15 bucks an hour.

I would rather be in the military! At least I would be sure that someone had my back covered!
Those people who go for the money are taking a greater risk than a service person. If they have any protection, it can't be counted on to be there when the going gets rough they will save their own neck, not yours. Our service people care for each other & will put their life on the line for each other. How can strangers be expected to do the same? Money isn't everything! You can't spend it when you are dead!

The only way it is worth it is if you are ready to give up your life for money. That is basicly all it is over there right now. They do not have enough armor or supplies to fight this war. They have so much money missing that it is a lossing battle.

I am not against the troops I am against an illegal war that we should NOT be fighting. My brother is in the Army and has been over a few times since all this happened. And he doesn't agree with it but it is his job. Unless you are really ready to end your life for a few extra bucks I don't think it is worth it.

If I was u, I'd become a civilan contractor as the people of syria pay 2 british pounds a kilo for contractor meat & only 1 british pound for soldier meat.
I hear that it tastes like chicken (COWARDS).
