How many are stationed in the US, how many in Asia, and how many in Europe. Will the US permanently station troops in the middle east?

You can look that stuff up but the last time I did it was something like this. Over 100,000 in Europe with almost 70,000 of those in Germany. Over 100,000 in Asia with around 60,000 in Japan and over 30,000 in South Korea. I've hear we have around 150,000 in Iraq and Afgahnistan. The rest are scattered on bases around the world and I think the total including those stationed in the U.S. is something around a million men under arms not including the National Guard and Reserves.

Which is more than we really need. I hope we remove our troops from Germany (70,000) and from Japan (60,000) and from Korea (30,000). The Germans and Japanese were more than able to defend themselves before WWII. The Japanese are more than a match for the Chinese, and the Germans can handle the Russians. The Americans should come home.

We could keep 150,000 in the middle east indefinitely but why should we. I say we nuke the Iranians and bring our troops home.

I'm going to answer this in a few parts

First of all, there is not enough troops in the armed forces. All these cutbacks of military personnel and base closures in the last 15+ years I believe will hurt our troop strength. All these "smart weapons" and technological advances are replacing the human factor in our military, but I believe it's a mistake to reduce troops

Second of all, I"m going to have to agree with 1st answer to this question. I don't think we'll know, and I'm glad of it. I believe there is waaaaaaaaayyyyy too much sensitive information being passed around the general public nowdays. To me, it's none of our business where our military is, in regards to numbers.

Third, this type of question from anyone who comes from China worries me. It was not too long ago that someone from China was trying to hack into our DOD, and military networks.

I don't trust anyone who asks questions like this.
