I was wondering what the schedual for a soldier in iraq is? What time do they get up? go to bed? eat breakfast? lunch? dinner? When do they have free time to use the computer? Go to the gym? Exercise? Whats life like at one of these army bases like Camp Diamond Back? Do they have church on sunday? Do they get days off?

Thank you

I understand that the UK govt has refused on behalf of the british serviceman to accept this payment whereas all other nations employed by the UN get this bounty. If this is the case it must be cheaper to send the Brits into conflicts everytime.A very noble stance - but do the politicians refuse to accept european perks?

the propeller emblem seems the same as the Army Air Corps but is part of the insignia on a navy uniform.

in the two world wars? Not that they weren't crucial to victory, but if they'd stepped up sooner, the wars would have been over a lot sooner.

The US Military used to have a program that was referred to "High School to Flight School" where they would train High School grads as a Helicopter Pilot right out of school.

-Do they still have this progam, if so whats the real name of the program?

-What are the requirments? Mainly, the sight requirments?

I've always been a Kubrick fan, so needless to say I've seen FULL METAL JACKET countless times. I finally got around to reading THE SHORT TIMERS, the book which the movie is based on. It was written by Gustav Hasford, who was a Marine war correspondent in Vietnam.

In both the book and the film, the Marines always go by their nicknames (Joker, Rafterman, Animal, 8-Ball, Cowboy, Crazy Earl, The Rock, Mr. Touchdown, Captain January). In the film, there is a scene where Modine's character, talking to a Lieutanant he's just met, addresses himself as "Sergeant Joker".

Was this common in the Marines, or was this just done for the sake of the film and the book?

Many American's feel a certain sympathy for The IRA, and view them as noble freedom fighters, yet the campaign of teoor against the UK and Northern Ireland was bloody, and directed against civillians. Do You thing Americans would have the same view if the IRA had attacked America?
