Is mentioning the words 'katrina' , Vietnam , Iraq , quagmire , afgan , etc insulting?? One of my question was ( "where I can watch the videos of iraqis shooting down US copters " - thankfully from the answers I got , I was able to watch it on youtube - otherwise this is not shown on TV while everything else is there to watch , like Saddam's murder etc. ) removed for 'insulting the community' . I would like to know who complained just for the sake of studying their manners in their questions and answers. So that I could learn to be much more polite in forums like this. Oh well , I was cursed , name called etc for that question by some of the answering people who did not answer the question anyway. I am thankful to Yahoo for providing me a chance to give feedback for the removal. I will not bother to do that because anyway I got my question answered . Some of you might have seen that question and you know the truth . Compared to some others I feel like a saint!!

it's been pretty scary from the beginning but it seems like it's starting to get out of hand especially with the comments putin made. i'm just wondering if anybody else is feeling a little uneasy with all this talk about nuclear bombs and everybody constantly pointing fingers. it feels like it's all going to blow in everyone's faces... literally and that's a little unnerving.

I don't understand why America is so judgemental about how many military members we deploy overseas. If you don't wear a uniform or have a family member serving, what do you care? I'm a military wife and my husband is deployed and I'm proud of him every day. We're both willing to make this sacrifice for a cause we believe in and it doesn't affect you. It's a choice between us. We have a volunteer military. If you don't want to deploy, you don't have to enlist. And for those already in, you don't have to re-enlist. Life is tough sure, but we're proud of this mission. So again, I ask why do you care and how does it affect your daily life if want to win in Iraq?

My enlistment in the Air National Guard is up in August. If there is no stop loss in effect, can they send me on a deployment that will go past the end of my enlistment date without me reenlisting? I guess that they can do anything they want, but it isnt a deployment to Iraq, but somewhere in the desert. Do you think they guard will do that?

... about, say, the air force? I have read a real-life memoir of an ex-naval serviceman's experience in the Air Force while he was serving int he 90s, and I shared some of that knowledge with this girl who was thinking of enlisting, and then I get half a dozen air force servicemembers telling her to forget about what I have said because "the air force is the best..." etc. Is it wrong for me to be sharing what I know with this innocent girl whose life could drastically change if she doesn't know some truths about what she is getting herself into, hence doesn't make an informed decision? Why do the servicemembers always sugarcoat their info? Are they held by some contract not to tell out about what happens in boot camp etc? If this is the case, why are there real-life memoirs about ex-militarymen's personal experiences in the military? Aren't they held by the same contract? I just wish servicemembers wouldn't sugarcoat anything just to promote their military branch.

ok. i'm in a serious relationship with an active marine and i had to learn to deal with his constant complaining and degrading of soldiers. nowadays, it's something i'm completely used to and it doesn't bother me much any more. actually, now that i've joined navy, my opinion is a little bias as well. anyways, my question is this: do soldiers hold the same grudge with marines? i don't know many people in the army, so i wouldn't know. all i know is that in marine bootcamp they practically brainwash the recruits into putting down army, so i was just wondering if it was similar with the army.
