Has America ever fought a war on it's own?

No one has got it right so i'll answer it myself.
Yes, one in which they were almost anahalated in many a massacre by the colonials who now rule the country and claim it as their own.

Um...what country doesn't have some kind of alliance with another in a war...Even in Iraq, we are assisting the Iraqi military, and I'm sure the terrorists are getting help from someone somewhere. The Nazis had allies, the Russians had Allies, and the USA has allies...Part of winning a war is making sure you have allies to assist in any way possible...What's the big deal? We aren't the only country that's never fought a war without allies, and come to think of it, we have won wars without allies. And for those of you who believe we've only won because we had help...What about WWI and WWll? Europe was toast and then we came in and saved the day because our allies needed our help.

You claim to have answered your own question. Exactly which war are YOU talking about? One of the people that answered mentioned a war against a country or continent that I have never heard of. Where in the world is the country or continent that is or was called Native?

Why does this question keep coming up, yes we have, there was the Barbary Wars, the Indian Wars, the Mexican American war, the Spanish American war, the Philippine American war, and lets not forget the Pig War of 1859, (no casualties but we killed your pig, ) , How many wars has Britain won on her own, without allies or a commonwealth nation doing the fighting? I assume you're British.

If you asked the same question of any country over the past 250 years you'd find the answer would almost always be 'no'. America is a relatively young country, and the wars it's fought in have not been 'country vs. country'. Most wars we've been involved in were brought to us, and involved other countries.

Think some people are getting mixed up between civil war and war of independence.
The Spanish American war is about the only one the Americans fought alone.The war of 1812 was fought against the English but the English were already fighting the French who were much more powerful than America.

I think the invasion of grenada but according to the wikipedia , other caribbean nations also participated in the 'operation urgent fury' . Grenada is the second smallest independent country in the western hemisphere.
And there have been any number of border wars between countries in the past which most of the time were fought one against one. But I think america's wars were never border wars. It was always in some country other than their own.
