Do you have to meet APFT requirements upon entering the army or at the end of basic training? Also, does everyone have to meet the same requirements (if you're doing a desk job, do you have to be able to do the same as someone in combat)?

Hmmm, looking back in history books, lets see, there is VIET NAM, and now there is IRAQ. Why does such a huge and powerful military have such a problem with fighting an enemy that fights in skirmishes and not battles? I think it is because our military is only good at fighting wars like WWII. Before all you jarheads get offended, think about it for a minute... You guys need to fight dirtier out there! Kick them in the balls and spit on their faces!

We should never have undertaken the war, particularly without UN cooperation. We have lost far troo many lives already. We have committed war crimes. We have lost prestige. The effort has cost us far more than we thought imagineable, And we still have a tremendous distance to go to achieve our goals.

If we stay, we will lose more American and Iraqi lives. We may never achieve our goals. And the cost of occupation will skyrocket.

If we leave, we will be deserting the Iraqis. Iraq will likely become a bigger mess than it already is. Who knows how many Iraqis will perish or how much damage Al Qaida will accomplish as a result.

I have heard enough to be certain now that Bush is prepared to attack other Countries in the Middle East in pursuit of any justification for the invasion of Iraq in 2003.
WMD's were the obvious justification at the beginning, but no justification has been found as of yet that matches the cost of this war for America, the American people, or for the Iraqi people. The death of one tyrant is not enough reason to kill hundreds of thousands of Iraqi and 3000+ American Military Troops .
I see a picture on the front cover of the San Francisco Chronicle of Bush crying as he awards the Medal of Honor to Marine Corporal Jason Dunham who died in combat in the year 2004. "He jumped on a grenade to protect his men." Jason was 22 years old when he died.
Let me know why I am reading the leaves of the future incorrectly if you see it happening in a different way. Chickhawks and Neo-Cons aside, even if they are two of the same thing.

I have applied for a job as a civilian for the Us Army but upon hiring you are required to join the reserve. Do they plan on activating people after they become reservists or is this a legitamate job opportunity. Has any one heard of this?

Considering the dangers and loss of rights associated with joining the military, do you worry about "car salesmen morals" military recruiters taking advantage of your children.?

Just wanted to find out if this was really true or not - you know you have to check behind everything a recruiter tells you.

Moving along, I was considering the 6 year option due to the extra education benefits.

Just want to make sure I know my options in case I end up hating my job (2A5X3). I know certain things go without saying like you'd need approval and a slot in the career field you want would have to be open. I'm just making sure it's possible.

Also, if you happen to be able to provide any details on the job itself like the environment, people, hated it, loved it etc, feel free to do so.

What do you think the consequences of pulling the military out of Iraq will be? The media is on a trip to bring us home, but have yet to give any rationalization to what the consequences might be. Will we have to go back again to the region in the near future in a more protracted and complicated war?

I enlisted in the Marine Reserve recently and have a little over a month and a half before I am supposed to ship. I have several things that need to be taken care of before I leave however. A (informal) debt that needs to be paid as well as some issues with my family and things. Is there anyway to further delay my entry a few months or so?

5 LAPD SWAT has grudge against 5 NAVY SEAL soldiers and vice versa because they called each other names. Now they want to kill each other. They are both armed with their own equipments and neither can call for back-up. They can use whatever force necessary to put the other party down. Who will win? How many casualties on each side and how soon will it end?
