Just wanted to find out if this was really true or not - you know you have to check behind everything a recruiter tells you.

Moving along, I was considering the 6 year option due to the extra education benefits.

Just want to make sure I know my options in case I end up hating my job (2A5X3). I know certain things go without saying like you'd need approval and a slot in the career field you want would have to be open. I'm just making sure it's possible.

Also, if you happen to be able to provide any details on the job itself like the environment, people, hated it, loved it etc, feel free to do so.

Your recruiter is correct, you can cross train when you complete your first enlistment. Your unit may or may not send to to tech school depending on what you cross train into. If it a similar career field they may just order you more CDCs and away you go. I can't provide any details about that AFSC as I am 2E173.
