I enlisted in the Marine Reserve recently and have a little over a month and a half before I am supposed to ship. I have several things that need to be taken care of before I leave however. A (informal) debt that needs to be paid as well as some issues with my family and things. Is there anyway to further delay my entry a few months or so?

If your talking about shipping off to basic/boot camp yes. The recruiter will probably try to spin it and say that your job wont be guaranteed, or no you cant. If they say that just tell him that your not going and all they can do is sit there with their thumbs up there asses. Then just go to a different recruiter. You haven't actually enlisted till the day you ship out to basic. Even then you have up to a 180 days and you can say u know what this isn't for me I'm done and get out.

So Id say explain the situation to your recruiter and if you have a good one he/she should understand and work with you. Just remember they need you, so you have the bargaining power in this deal.

in case you went to MEPS, took your ASVAB, and signed a settlement for a particular MOS container, then you truthfully've a settlement for that container. regardless of if it is not any longer attainable, you are able to persist with that settlement or sign a clean one, counting on why you probably did no longer deliver below your previous settlement. It looks such as you probably did no longer make your deliver date for some reason particularly than your pastime replaced into purely taken away. If there replaced right into a reason you are able to desire to no longer deliver you are able to desire to have been speaking on your recruiter.

I think you can, although most that i knew that got their date pushed back did so because they were over the weight they were supposed to be. My suggestion is to ask your recruiter. I dont think there would be a problem because you already signed the contract.
