I go to the Air National Guard once a month in Cheyenne, WY. I want to move to California, but I like going to Cheyenne for drill weekends. Would the Air Force pay for a plane ticket for me to go to drill weekends?

The Gang Rape in Nemmersdorf was one of the worst war atrocities. I'm looking for others and trying to find out if any Russians were ever brought to trial for their crimes during WWII. I'll probably be asking about Afghanistan and Chechnya later. But if you have sites now I'd love to study them. Thank you in advance.

Sure you can get a lot of information on how to Build a Nuke on the internet but if you had questions could you fake being an American or British student and get pieces one at a time to get all the info you need? How about getting Allies to bash on another could you think of a better tool? How about Radical Islam providing proaganda to Conservative Islam that the west "really does Hate you" so "join us". Questions about health OK but Please be careful about our answers. Do you really want North Korea to feel we are so divided? Limit the bashing !!!! Be careful about Military Questions, troop locations bases things you may know but they want too!

Why is it that people think that people that are serving as enlisted members of the military dont have an education?

I'm sorry but that is just one of the things that really burns me. Before I could enlist I had to prove I graduated atleast high school, and if you had your GED you had to have atleast 3 hours of college before you could join, and that was the Navy's standards, and they continue to get more and more strict.

But why do alot of people seem to think that because I and alot of my friends are enlisted in many different services are stupid and that we don't have an education or we couldn't hack it in college?

Do you realize that we can and do take college courses while doing a full time job?

Or is it just a jealousy issue?

Remember: it takes a college degree to break it, and a high school diploma to fix it. (obviously this pertains to officers, no offense to any O's that are out there reading this.)

Almost every conflict that the US has been involved in has resulted in a movie.

Many about the Vietnam war were very horrific and didn't protray the US in a "John Wayne" style, boldly cutting down the enemy.

However, more recently Hollywood has been portraying the US is a different light e.g. Pearl Harbor almost seemed like a US victory after Hollywood had finished with it.

Do people think that any movies on Iraq will be "true to life" or have a heavy pro-US bias.

I know it means the enemy is "killed" but what exactly are the criteria for a "shooting solution"?

I am a proud military supporter. My husband is currently deployed in Iraq. It sickens me that the Democrats are propsing a draft. I believe in the all-volunteer military that we have. It supports our countrie's freedom of choice. Furthermore, having an all-volunteer mil guarantees that you have individuals that WANT to be in the mil..at one point or another. If we institute a draft you'll have unwilling people putting our troops in danger. Why do we need a draft anyway. enlistment is up and the Air force is down sizing. I know a bunch of recently released mil members that would love to have their jobs back. The democrats are crazy and just want to prove a point by sending some rich republicans son overseas forcefully. That pisses me off because it puts my husband in danger. What do you think?

My friend wants to, or says he wants to, join the Marines but then found this article:

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/6999745

And now has changed his mind because he thinks if he has a problem and wants out they will try to do something bad or run him into the ground. Do they do that? Whats a good way to convince him to go? Basically his fear is going, not liking it, and wanting out and he wouldn't be able to?

to any problem is to bomb some one?

There are many intelligent Americans from all sides of the political spectrum, but there seems to be a serious view that the USA military will always win any conflict and therefore the solution is always to “bomb, nuke or invade”.

Do these view really represent mainstream US thought ?

That's about when you come into the most power in your lifetime and can decide the course of your company, your local political hemisphere. Especially with the technology of today, why would young virile men have to serve when old crodgedy men could?

I'm trying to send care pacakges to soldiers in the area and I thought it'd be great to get my college and local businesses involved with sending stuff so I was wondering where I could find the names of the units. I've tried anysoldier.com, I've gone through over 500 posts but still can't find any units within 90 miles. I want a closer unit so that the businesses will feel more of a reason to donate items to send the soldiers... (I'm in Houston, TX and I did find one Airforce group with 4 ppl but I'm looking for more units and more people). Any points or hints in the right direction would be greatly appreciated.

Growing up in Britain it seems that we are always told that the Special Air and Boat Service are the best in the world. What do people from other countries think, do you acknowledge this?

Basically what i got from the article is this guy got sent to iraq and was suddenly anti war (it's funny how being in the direct line of fire will do that to a person)....but in my opinion is when you join the military you sign away your right to say "i'm not going"...i am not anti war, i happen to think the one we are in currently is kinda stupid, but in general i am not anti war...
what are your thoughts? are his actions justified or is he being crybaby?
i vote for crybaby
