I would not worry.
If the Chinese build their tanks, warplanes and warships, with the same care and attention, that they used when assembling the goods that they export to the UK,
Then they will be lucky to move their armed forces more that 20miles from Beijing.

According to military experts (Janes's Intelligence), (Washington Post Defense Review), (Council On Foreign Relations). The answer to this question is no. The US Military, Congress, and political leadership of both parties of the United States, have agreed to enact planning and spending that will ensure that the American military remains the most lethal, most advanced, and most powerfull on earth for the forseeable future.

This decision has always been supported by the Republicans and some Democrats, but according to Newsweek, was made completly bi-partisan after the attacks on 9/11.

Having said that, the same military experts believe that China will become the world's second most powerfull military within the next 30-40 years, and possibly sooner. Israel and Britian will be third and fourth respectively.

What is making China so strong? Simple...the United States is allowing greedy corporations to export all manufacturing jobs to the Chinese because they work for nothing. These companies do not want to pay a competitive wage, so everything is purchased from China. They know that the Chinese do not like the US, are poor with human rights, do not hold our ideals, would go to war with us in a heart beat if they could actually win!

On top of that, thanks to corporate greed, "we" have built up China so that they can now supply the rest of the world's goods too! Now, of course, they need more resources, OIL, and they are competing with the USA for that oil. Anyway you shake it, way too much business is being given to a communist country which will inevitably come around to bite the USA in the ***.

The bottom line is this: define treason. Big business is engaging in treason. Their actions are undermining the safety of our land. Think of that when you buy something from Walmart. When I call the credit card company, I get some guy in India reading back my personal information. Face it, banks, big companies, do not care about you, me or the USA. It's about money. Their excuse is this "global market" BS they like to toss around freely. It's only a global market because they made it that way: by selling out jobs to strangers who do not value us or hold our ideals!!!

Yes and no.

To sum it up

Yes: Their standing army has more soldiers than the whole US population., Also their navy is building x2 as many ships as the US is.

No: Spending; Japan spends more money on defense than China, fleet projection: They only have so many modern planes (Su-27 family, J-10, J-11) while the rest are pretty obselete (1960's vintage). They still lack a true blue water navy (not even an aircraft carrier) last but not least they may have a large standing army but they lack fleet projection; meaning they don't have hardly enough planes/ships to move them around.

BUT lets hope we will not see this date :(

Yes and no. Technologically? Not a chance--but they have a larger standing army than we have a total population, so it would not take much for their military to be stronger than ours, their technology only has so much ground to make up. If it came down to war between the U.S. and China today--it would be the bloodiest stalemate in history.

If America continues to think of itself as it does now (America the super hero) compromise is the answer to conflict, stick to decisions and don't go for domination with the American way. Then war is off the agenda, what a stupid question to ask American boy.
