I know she will have money and benefits, but I don't know if it's for her. She's really girly and has never even held a gun. I just don't think she would like living in tents and eating MREs.

My question is, should I go to a regular culinary school, or my other idea is to join the Air Force/Air Force Reserves. I am always looking at ways to better myself and what I can get from doing something(schooling,AF,etc) I am not eagerly pursuing a traditional college with all the meat. I just want to learn what is pertinent to what I want to do. The culinary school I am look at is just that. However, the AF might pay all or part of my education. While in the AF I can gain life lessons and learn on the job skills. The AF career that I am looking at is services apprentice. I keep tossing the AF idea around, but I am not sure if the outcome will be any better than just pursuing an education outside the AF. I have an older friend who started off in the AF as a services apprentice like I want to do)and went AF Reserves after his 4 year commitment with the AF to start his own restaraunt. I am also an Eagle Scout, if I join th AF I will enlist at a higher pay-grade than others.opinions pl

Seems to be in a full fleged civil war now. But wait I need to be reminded at how much freedom we brought to Iraq and how brutal saddam was and not to forget all the good things we do there.
This just does not add up.

I think that a person joins the army to be trained to kill other people whilst under the pressure of gunfire. Unfortunately they can get injured. Do they deserve compensation for fighting in battles and getting injured?

I will be honest. I haven't shown the interest I should have in the war in Iraq, but I'm trying to learn more about it now. Here's my question: If we begin to steadily withdraw troops from Iraq, what will happen? What will happen once we have no troops in Iraq at all?

My parents think withdrawing would be a huge mistake, and I haven't done enough research to really have an opinion. I appreciate all opinions and answers! Thanks!

I've been wondering about this for awhile now--why are the flag emblems on soldiers uniforms facing the other way? The stars are usually on the left but on thier uniforms the stars are on the right? What does this mean?

Stormont uses a private security firm to guard and protect the building and the people within.

Westminster uses the Army to guard and protect, as well as the police force.

Why can't the Irish Guards be returned to Northern Ireland to provide Home Security, as well as thier other duties?

Michael Stone craves media attention - that's very evident - so slap a D-notice on the media and stop them from reporting anything about him and his media-attention seeking needs.

Had it not been for the Good Friday Agreement, this man would not have been able to have carried out his potentially lethal publicity stunt.

As for the female security officer who took the gun away from Stone... she was a very lucky woman - not a brave woman. That gun COULD have gone off when she used it to subdue Michael Stone by hitting him on the head with it !! She was a lucky woman... things COULD have gone so wrong with such an action.
Granted, she acted on the spur of the moment, and without thought.

I dont know if anyone could answer this truthfully or not but i want to take a shot.

Back in the 90's I heard a interesting look at the F-22 Raptor.

It said that the plane had two... very interesting abilities that you dont read about in newspapers.

1. most planes when your engaging a enemy fighter you have to lock onto the enemy and then fire. I am not sure if heat seakers give off any warning but this mostly is about radar missiles. In the F-22 Raptor i heard it works a little different.

The pilot would spot the enemy plane and some how program this missile to attack that plane-target. however it would not lock its radar onto the target.. yet.

When the missile was within like 100 yards then it would use a onboard radar to lock on. This was designed i understand for minimum chance of escape.

2. The chamelion affect. I have heard there is something on the f-22 that can make it look as blue (or whatever color) as the sky around it. Someone told me it was mirrors. but

I think its definately gonna happen! Its just a matter of time! With all of the technology involved these days, a third world war could mean the end of mankind. Alot of people say that sense the U.S. is a super power; nobody would ever attack us or have the nerve to try anything. But when you have mad men like the leader of North Korea and The leader of Iran, anything is possible. A third world war would most likely involve nulear, chemical and biological weapons. The loss of life would be off the charts. All it takes is for one man to push the button and thats it! It would be a chain reaction. If Iran attacks Israel, retaliation is inevidable. Once Iran is attacked, you know Russia is gonna back them up! And I don't totally believe that China is on our side either! Once that first shot is fired or that first bomb is dropped, its gonna be a total disaster!

I used "click n ship" to print out a priority mail label online going to an APO address (AE).. I was also able to fill out and print the customs form online. I could just attach it to the envelope using the clear form envelopes I have, but there's a section that says "post office copy." Isn't that why you fill it out online, so the post office will have a virtual copy, and you could just give it to your postal carrier?

I have a question for anyone in the military.

I heard a story about some..... rather interesting and unusual training that is done domesticaly. This however isnt your usual shoot in shoot out cement house on a base.

From what i hear (been a while so excuse any details), is that up in the NE (Maryland and such), there is a group of towns and civialans that take part in a mock invasion-counter attack exercise. From what i've heard a mock invasion happens and then the military or at least part of it (might be special forces) retakes the towns. I dont know if its live ammo or what.

Is this real? where does it take place?

Iraq is falling apart, and 20,000 additional troops can’t put it back together again.

In October, a record number of Iraqis—3,709—were killed. With a vicious cycle of sectarian violence on top of the insurgency, the idea that 20,000 more troops can do much of anything is deluded.
