I have a question for anyone in the military.

I heard a story about some..... rather interesting and unusual training that is done domesticaly. This however isnt your usual shoot in shoot out cement house on a base.

From what i hear (been a while so excuse any details), is that up in the NE (Maryland and such), there is a group of towns and civialans that take part in a mock invasion-counter attack exercise. From what i've heard a mock invasion happens and then the military or at least part of it (might be special forces) retakes the towns. I dont know if its live ammo or what.

Is this real? where does it take place?

There is such a town that serves for Special Forces just outside of Fort Bragg, NC. The town is very small and for the purpose of training, other units on the installation are tasked to provide "bad guys" for their training. The town is known as Robin Sage, which is the final exam for the famed Green Berets. If you would like more details, I have linked an info page below.

This could definatly be true. Not sure exactly, but I do know of some specific military training that does enlist the help of civilians in neighboring towns to make the training seem more realistic. Try looking up "Robins Sage" which is the last step in US ARMY special forces school.
There was unfortunatly and rather serious incident that happened a few years ago in which a civilian police officer shot and killed a soldier while participating in Robin Sage.
