im asking this because with our military stretched to the limit, i keep thinking invasion could be possible. I mean if we have to resort to using the national guard well, dont you think it could happen.

I wonder this myself some times, especially by countries which really do not have all that great relationships with the U.S, such as N.Korea, China, and Russia just to name a few. An invasion against the U.S. will only be possilbe if invaders ally, I do not see it possible that one country can invade the U.S. though.

It's not a matter of "ever" because we've already been invaded by foreign armies before. Granted, it's been a while, but not THAT long ago.
I think another invasion, before the states decide to end their union in the distant future, is possible. I don't like a lot of what I see brewing up in South America. And right now the people of the world are forming very negative opinions and stereotypes of us. The types of negative opinions and stereotypes that last for many generations.

We were not invaded by a foreign army at Pearl Harbor, we were attacked by planes from aircraft carriers. We were not invaded on 9/11, we were attacked by terrorists using planes as missiles.
It is extremely unlikely that we will be invaded by a foreign army. Any attack from overseas would be stopped by our navy and air force. No country in the Western Hemisphere has the inclination or the were withal to attack the United States. Any Army attacking the US would be in big trouble from the start , as their supply lines would be stretched too thin and it is too big of an area to get control over -- not to mention a large, hostile population to fight.
So relax, we aren't going to get invaded anytime soon.
PS George Washington wasn't a "strong Christian" he was essentially a Deist.

Invasion in the "traditional sense", i don't think so. However, it is not these "foreign army invasions" that countries must protect themselves from. It is the radicals, the militias, the small groups of individuals with a common cause that are reeking havoc all over the world, and will continue to do so. B/c while it is relatively easy (with all the technological advances) to monitor & defend against "traditional threats", it is nearly impossible to defend against the terrorists.

First, who do you think is going to invade? At present, the only two countries capable of it are Canada and Mexico, and only because they are on our borders. There is only one nation in the world today with the air and sea lift capablity to get an invasion force from overseas to the US and that's....the US.

George Washington had a vision that he shared in a book (you'd have to look up where) that an angel showed him the future of the United States. In the Vision he said that the United States was invaded by a foreign army. We all know that George Washington was a strong Christian, so, who knows? - Maybe it's true.

it already has been..The British did it..and burned Washington...the Mexicans did it and destroyed the Alamo...
sure it could again...it just takes the right folks to team with Mexico....of course..they don't have to..they can take over in 30 years by just trespassing across the border, stay, and vote democratic.

No not a chance. We have total domination of both sea and air. No "army" would dare try to do that. The things we have to worry about are terror cells that sneak in and bomb.

It is possible because our country could refer to any single country in the world.
Remember you are on the internet, so the term "Our Country" would mean Canada to people living there, England to people living there, Iran to people living there etc.
So to begin with, where is "Our Country"?
