Iraq is falling apart, and 20,000 additional troops can’t put it back together again.

In October, a record number of Iraqis—3,709—were killed. With a vicious cycle of sectarian violence on top of the insurgency, the idea that 20,000 more troops can do much of anything is deluded.

"Join them and find out." - Ha ha ha... funny one.
No thanks pal, you join them and think of how you were fooled into a mission of killing innocent people to further a small elite of businessmen's agenda globally... they won't even attend your funeral to thank your family...

Joining the military now is like joining the mafia when they are being prosecuted by a grand jury... no thanks.

I'll take loans and live. Stay sane so I don't have to take medication for the rest of my life...

Agreed. Nothing is going to help over there. Shrub is trying to reverse umpteen thousand years of religious hatred for the sake of "democracy" and it's just goiing to get more of us killed. Woo-hoo!. Good times. (But not really)

They will do the same thing all the other troops have done, nothing. Bush and his cronies are trying to change an entire culture to fit his warped sense of what is right. This will not work in this day and age. If he was going to act like Ghengis or Attila the Hun and slay enough people to build a 500 foot tall mountain of heads, he might be able to accomplish his unrealistic goals. But then world opinion would ostracize him and his pals. I person-ally think that all he really wants is to become richer by bilking the Iraqi and American people of all that he can before he is out of office or impeached for breach of contract of the Presidency of the United States.

Not much...it seems for every 20,000 you send, that many more creep up on the other side, then you send more, then more creep up, then you send more...you get the picture.

Other countries support the terrorists too you know..it's not just one country you are fighting there...right now they are not involved...directly...and I don't know how many soldiers you've got in America..it had better be an endless supply.

The reason Iraqi's are fighting Iraqi's is because they are NOW ALL on the verge of CIVIL war...they've learned to play cowboys and indians too, how about that? Imagine thinking that you could just barge in there and steamroll over the whole country and it would just bow down to the Grand Pooba Bush....did you really think you defeat a nation of suicidals?

Not much. Depends how we use those 20,000 soldiers. if we just use them to pull the "we have more guys than you trick" than it wouldn't really work since thats what the enemy is expecting. Their expecting a massive amount of Americans since were considered the greatest world power. Though if we sent smaller amounts using better tactics that could work better. It's hard to tell since 20,000 could just cause more confusion in a desperate situation. The enemy could be anyone over there, so before we send 20,000 troops we need to figure out how they work they're strategy and tactics before sending that amount. The only other way they could be of use is to help keep the control level up, but if we don't know what their doing to take us out , and how they're doing it, than it only takes time before something else is needed.

All it will be is a band aid, but is it too little too late.

This is what happens when we where we don't belong because we were lied to. The problem is that now we can't just walk away. We have created such a mess for that country that we have to stay and protect them from themselves. So unfortunately we have to keep sending these young men and women over there to be killed or maimed. We have no choice now and when people stop volunteering, we are going to have to reinstate the draft.

Thank YOU George W. Too bad finishing the job daddy started didn't prove to be as easy as you thought it would be.....

..*Sigh, Liberals*

--

We're trying to take out the terrorist (Both against the US, and the ones killing innocent Iraqis) Notice, what the Democratic news might not tell you, the Iraqis are killing eachother. The number of Americans killing Iraqi Civilians are a hell of alot lower than the Iraqis killing Iraqi Citizens.

So what it comes down to is:
-Would you rather our trained military fight them over there and save Iraqs future generation?
-Or let the families of a future 9/11 deal w/ it when they attack us becuase they dont have to defend themselves like they are now, and doom Iraq?

Hopefully 20,000 more troops can reduce the violence in Iraq. Just because there are a lot of problems in Iraq doesn't mean they can't be fixed. Your pessimistic attitude is a total waste of megabytes.
