You can get the deducted taxes back when you file your income tax return any time after January 1, 2007. I suppose you will get some percentage of that money back depending upon your number of dependents and other tax factors. The amount should be non taxable if you are in a war zone. Stateside guys just have to do like the rest of us and pay as you go.

Are you a deployed reservist? If you notice, they take taxes out of each check and then issue separate chaecks the week after reimbursing the taxes. The bonus will work the same way.

If you aren't deployed? Then you're out of luck. The bonus isn't tax free. However, when tax day rolls around you should qualify for a much larger refund than you usually get.

Taxation is harsh but it is the law and just follow it. There is no valid reason to take it back. If you want, initiate an action for taxes to be decreased or abolished for military personnel who are serving the state.

confident, the two are taken out ,that is state based, maximum states have a state tax very few do no longer. Texas is a state that I belive does no longer. If the re-enlistnment occurs down selection then no tax is taken out.
