Almost every conflict that the US has been involved in has resulted in a movie.

Many about the Vietnam war were very horrific and didn't protray the US in a "John Wayne" style, boldly cutting down the enemy.

However, more recently Hollywood has been portraying the US is a different light e.g. Pearl Harbor almost seemed like a US victory after Hollywood had finished with it.

Do people think that any movies on Iraq will be "true to life" or have a heavy pro-US bias.

There will be some of each. but no really good ones for quite a few years after the event. The WWII movies made at the time were all propagandistic crap, as were the Vietnam movies made at the time (ie., John Wayne's The Green Beret).

I know of only two feature films that have been made about the first Gulf War, the satirical Three Kings and Jarhead, both of which I like a lot.

The only film I've seen involving the current Iraq war is Fahrenheit 9/11, and even I wouldn't call that film fair and balanced, and I like it quite a lot.

I thought some of the 'embedded' journalists and cameramen were hired and paid by Hollywood film makers!

Anyway, the war is still going on and if the idea has not caught the imagination of the Hollywood, then possibly after the midterm election result they would get the cue and send team to Iraq.

Yes they will make a movie about it in the future. They have made movies about it already. They've made movies and series about past wars ever since there was TV. They all mark issues that greatly effect the majority of the public...rather for or against the war... and that makes them a good source of income to movie makers at the box office. SSG Bitson

NO. Hollywood would never make a war movie that would possibly gave any positive view of the so called Bushs oil for profit war. If they were allowed to turn it completely around,, then yes. Maybe Micheal Moore can come up with something.

There have been movies surrounding Iraq and many TV shows with connections to Iraq. NCIS and JAG had stories in/around Iraq. Looks like CSI: Miami is having an episode addressing Iraq as well.

They've already made one about the first Iraq war, you know Desert Storm/Sheild.... its called Jarhead.

Its going to be up to whoever directs the film whether or not its going to be pro-us bias.... there's nothing we can do about that but learn the actual facts.

There will be plenty of both, but the biased movies will do better int he box office. Thats the way it has always been, and I for one don't see it changing yet.

There will be a movie, that you can count on. Hollyweird never passes up an opportunity to bilk the public. I doubt it will be pro-American since there are so many anti-Americans in hollywierd.
