I think Al Sadr is only one of many clerics who are indeed anti-American.
I believe that direct attacks on the Muslim religious leaders would be a bad idea if we are to ever bring any kind of stability to this region.

For instance, despite the rantings and ravings of Ahmadinejad, the real power in Iran now lies mostly with the Shiite clergy and their supreme religious leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
We know this is a country that supports Islamic Jihad, The Revolutionary Guard, Hezbollah, Humas and other terrorist factions throughout the region.

The followers of these hard liner, fanatical Islamic leaders may well be the total downfall of the contention that Islam is indeed a "peaceful and tolerant" religion.

We are constantly being told that is is a small minority of Muslims who subscribe to the radicals' objectives and demands. Everyday, this rhetoric gets harder and harder to accept.

Presently, Iraq is the center of our war on terror. The Iraqi people will ultimately be the ones to choose their destiny and show their true colors. We have given this country the opportunity to install a government that answers to the people - a government that grants rights and freedoms to all - we can only wait and see which side they choose.

If he is the one that is stirring up the attacks on us, why not? I dont' care what he says about the US as long as he does not call on his people to attack us as he does. If he were taken out, there might be more of a chance for peace and settlement of the war there.
