Don't join the military if you're unwilling to go to war. We don't need people like you.

If you are not prepared to fight in a war, don't join the military. Plain and simple. This is not about if you agree with the policy or not, it's common sense. But if you want to go, and be at least risk, then probably the Coast Guard. But what will happen when our enemies cross the seas by boat? Will you be prepared or willing to fight?

War is not for everyone.

The military can be for anyone.

Any branch of the military (unless you look at the coast guard) is equally likely to be involved in war.

If you want to limit your exposure to the possibility of combat, then you have to look at the specific jobs being offered.

If you sign up to be a trucker, then you'll probably haul tanks.

If you sign up to be a helicopter mechanic, you'll probably be in a chopper.

Your best option for joining the military and avoiding combat is to get a degree in the business information areas (accounting, finance, computers).

This will also allow you to join as an officer.

Join the Air Force Even if you get sent overseas, unless your flying you wont be in combat. And youll prolly be stationed at some fairly cushy base in a supprt group, plus you might learn a thing or two about technology or jets that might get you a good job after your service

I dont think that the point of joining the military is to NOT goto war...You should pick a branch that you feel you would like best, but dont coward out and not join because of war...You know its going to happen.

Being in the service means you respect the USA and want to fight for it not jion it casue you want to take a easy way

Join the Bathtub Navy. Then you can sail your rubber ducky all day long and not get shot at. You may get fingers that prune, but I don't believe you would be eligible for a Purple Heart.
